Well this is going to be tough... I used to listen to Rap but it's stupid now. Sometimes when I hear old Hip Hop music it's really cool. BTW, Hip Hop is more about the beats. Break dancing back in the 80s was incorporated with Hip Hop mostly. Hip Hop doesn't really need to have words just enough great beats to really dance to. Rap is more like poetry which rhymes in a way with a music background. Anyways, back to my favorites... I don't really have a favorite genre so I will just list some of the greatest bands in my opinion.
Guns N' Roses, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Elton John, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Eagles, Deep Purple, etc... I could go on all day. Sometimes I love listening to Beethoven and other classical music... Really relaxes your body and mind. |

hmmmm.. My favorite music genre ? Its pretty easy, altough I have a few.., I only listen to music amongst these genre's and nothing else ^^
Apart from loving Anime music of course.., my none-anime music genres mostely englobe "Progressive Metal" / "Dark Melodic Metal" / "Gothic" & "Instrumental" Groups like Tool, A Perfect Circle, MoonSpell, Apocalypitca, Nightwish, etc. are mostely ALWAYS on my playlist.., along with alot of Anime soundtracks I guess my genre's don't appeal to everyone.., but honestly I could care less about that.. , personaly.., I love what I listen too.., and many of the songs I do realy mean alot to me so.. |

I find it is often pretty arbitrary where a piece of music gets assigned a genre label.
The Rolling Stones are labeled "rock" but 95% of their music is just amplified country-western. Early ZZTop is Texas Blues, whereas their later stuff is disco rock. Jethro Tull is classed as "rock" though many of their pieces are closer to contemporary classical or jazz. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer were always miscast as "rock" when they were mostly jazz or avant-garde. In addition, many of the good artists slide across several genres. Hell, DMC and Aerosmith's rendition of "Walk This Way"... whats that? I could take most of the better recent artists and kick the crap out of their "assignment to genre" so anymore I just say which artists I like. My music collection is pretty eclectic. Category missing: "Most of the above".... so I went with "Other". This is about like my multi-racial friends and relatives who rail at those numbing stupid employment application forms that require you to pick one and only one imaginary race (or the poor HR person will have to guess).

Hmm, I like classical piano, classical symphonic, film scores, anime scores, mostly anything instrumental, indian classical, and anything that sounds good.
I hate: Rock, most but not all kinds of rap, heavy metal, punk, electronic

Defintely an all round lover of music in general =P
Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk, Hip Hop, RnB, Rap, Drum n Bass, House, Rave, Dance, Techno, Trance, JRock, JPop, Alternative...everything else lol. The only genre i *usually* stay away from would be pop/country/classic =P Although there are a few select songs i like from those genres. |

I don't have a genre preference, I just know a lot more about one genre than others. And that genre happens to be underground/non-mainstream rap at the moment. |
