Who told her to butt in! That stupid, whiny, crybaby, blue-haired idiot girl! I didn’t need her to help me out, and I definitely don’t need her hanging around me. She’ll just keep getting in my way. I know, it’s the stupid Administration’s fault, sticking me with a partner. Why do I need a partner anyway? Now that I’m a certified C ranked mage I’m completely capable of working alone.

“Tiana, wait up!”

That’s how I’ve always done things and that’s how I’ll keep doing things. I can’t afford to do anything less.

“Hey, Tiaanaa!”

After all, this is for the Lanster name, this is for Tiida. How in the world am I supposed to prove myself when I keep having to-

“Stop following me already! And don’t call me Tia!”

“B-but, why can’t I follow you?”

This is just an annoyance, a bump in the road. I’ll make it through, brother. I hope you’re watching, because I’ll make you proud. I’m doing this for you.

Anyway, random drabble I thought up while thinking about what their personalities were like. Actually ended up being more about their motivations, but w/e.

Nanoha training woes.

“Good work today!”

The trainees dragged themselves slowly up the stairs back to base to hit the showers, having just finished morning practice. This group was coming along nicely. I’d only had them for a week, but they were all really shaping up. Another week and I could probably start advanced training. Of course, there was always one problem in every group. Looking up, I saw her lagging behind everyone else, as she had been for the last four days.

Actually, she’d been called a child prodigy by her previous instructors. Thirteen years old and a fully licensed C rank mage, capable of showing up everyone else she’d been trained with. They had expected great things from her (though not as great as my accomplishments, they’d been quick to add). I think those expectations were starting to get to her, though. She looked completely worn out all the time, even after she’d just woken up, and her fatigue had been affecting her performance. Something told me that she was overexerting herself and doing extra training.

“Can I talk to you a moment,” I asked, walking over to her.

“S-Sir…I mean Ma’am!”

“Just Nanoha is fine.”

She must be really tired to not even notice me approaching her. She was looking at me intently, eyes full of worry. It looked like she’d burst into tears at any moment. I didn’t think I was that scary.

“Have a seat; I just want to ask a question.”

We both sat on the stair steps, but she still looked just as anxious as before. Then, before I could even ask anything, she already started to answer.

“…I’m not cut out for this…am I?”

“Huh?”

“I can’t keep up with everyone; I’m not learning this stuff fast enough. I can tell, I’m just dragging everyone down with me. Maybe I should just quit…”

“…is this why you’ve been staying up late to train?”

She suddenly looked sheepish, having obviously thought that I didn’t know.

“You know, overworking yourself can do a lot more harm than you think. Trust me, I know.”

“But, everyone’s expecting me to do so well! If I don’t try my hardest, if I don’t keep pushing myself, I’ll let everyone down!”

“Is that why you became a mage?”

“What?”

“Because it was expected of you? Is that the only reason you’re doing this?”

She looked away from me, staring at her feet.

“Ne, do you know about the Jewel Seed Incident?”

“Of course! It’s almost legendary! You were only nine years old without any magical contact at all, but you still managed to single handedly seal the missing Lost Logia, and defeated the enemy mage who became the TSAB’s youngest enfor…”

She trailed off, suddenly blushing furiously as she realized what she’d started gushing over. It was kinda cute, seeing her so animated like that. It had taken some years, but I’d finally gotten used to being a hero figure for the rookies.

“Did you know that the first time that mage and I met, she beat me?” I said, knowing that the TSAB didn’t have full documentation of events before Lindy and Chrono had arrived.

“Eh?!”

I couldn’t help but laugh softly. Her expression upon hearing that her hero had been beaten was priceless.

“Nyahaha. Yup, she beat me. Several times, and badly, too. But I kept standing up, time and time again, and eventually I was able to beat her. Do you know why?”

She looked weary now, probably thinking I was just trying to tell her not to give, to keep working hard; that I expected great things from her too.

“I didn’t care about being stronger, or being better than her. I didn’t even care about saving the world. I just wanted to face her as an equal, to be able to look her in the eye and understand her sadness, even if it was just for a moment.”

I reached out and put a hand on her shoulder to show my support.

“So, don’t do this for anyone else, ne? Don’t keep pushing yourself for everyone else’s sake. Find your own reason. If you do that, you can be as strong as you have to be.”

She looked up at me and smiled; a genuine smile. It was nice thing to know, that I’d helped her out. Even if it was just a little.

Breaking through the sadness in their hearts and finding the smiles they never knew existed. That is my wings. That is my hope. My name is Takamichi Nanoha.

And Mother!Fate with minor Vivio angst.

Vivio wasn’t a hard girl to read. When she was happy her smile would never break, she’d keep up a constant stream of chatter and she could never sit still. When she was sad she’d cry rivers until me or Nanoha hugged her tightly, and then she’d be happy in an instant again. So, when she climbed into my car after school and sat silently, staring at the floor, I knew something had made her very upset. Stretching over I pulled her towards me, wrapping my arms around her.

When she didn’t return the hug or try to squirm her way out of it I realized that it was something bad.

“Tell Fate-mama what’s wrong, Vivio.”

She pushed herself deeper against me for answering.

“Fate-mama, is Vivio not a real person?”

I stiffened slightly. Was this what she was so upset about, being an artificial mage? Who would have said something like this to her?

“Of course you are, Vivio. You were just born in a different way.”

That didn’t seem to comfort her much. Then again, it didn’t really comfort me either, when I’d heard it.

“If Vivio isn’t real…does that mean Fate-mama and Nanoha-mama’s love is fake?”

This made sense now. I’d remembered thinking the same things once. For me, though, my mother’s love was false. It wasn’t the same for Vivio, it would never be the same. I held her tighter, stroking her hair calmly.

“Vivio, do you know why people are born? It’s to be found.”

“Found?”

“Yes. Everyone has a person that can make them smile, who will hold them close and make them happy, and people are born just so that person can find them. Vivio was born just so Fate-mama and Nanoha-mama could find her.”

She was hugging me back now, and I kept holding her and stroking her hair.

“And you know, Fate-mama and Nanoha-mama are just the same. We were born just to be found by Vivio.

To be strong for the people dear to me, to protect them so they never feel the pain I felt. To stop my past from ever being repeated. This is my future. This is my wish. I am Fate Testarossa Harlaown.

It was a long time since I've read so in character stories. I personally don't know why they are pictured like that but IMHO Nanoha should be the agressive one and Fate the bashful type. But I'm not a writer so I don't think I have rigt (and reason) to speak in such a manner. Anyway I wonder which when next update of FLN will be out. Personally I like it.

Thanks . Very happy that you guys think they're so in character, too. I mean, considering that was the whole point, if they were OoC that would be utter epic phail .

I don't really think Nanoha would be "aggressive". As funny as Beamspam-chan is, that's not really her character either, IMO. I think it's much more confidence, than anything else. She's a person with zero doubts who'll charge into any situation believing wholeheartedly that she knows what she's doing.

Well...except against crying Vivio. Loli power > all.

(FLN will hopefully updated soon, but I'm still trying to decide where I'm going with the next chapter ).

Yeah I make really bad jokes. The punchline here was the black uniforms that Enforcers wear, and by replacing shades for staves, I could pretty much make everything fit. Fate rapping completely blew my mind, but the link was too hot to pass up.

It's hot off the presses guys the latest gossip and it can only be found right here in the pages of The Lyrical Times, your source for the latest in IRC news.
This afternoon or morning or night depending on your location a decision was finally reached in the on going love triangle between Wanwan1203, Nictory and Naolin. Originally it was just Wanwan and Naolin, who are both the mothers of local FFTer Nikki the Cat who was recently wed to TeleIce, but Nictory soon came into the picture. Then Naolin due to real life issues disappeared into the night (due to real life technical difficulties) and in desperation Nictory threw His/herself at Wanwan. Wanwan refused the person of ambiguous gender.
All was fine in the FFC until Naolin returned today (or yesterday depending on where you are), Wanwan was still absent and Nictory needed a way to apologize to Naolin for his/her wandering eyes a way that involved seducing, albeit with permission, the fanfiction writer. Just as they were about to do something not appropriate for our younger reader's eyes, Wanwan reentered the scene blissfully oblivious to what had happened due to lacking backlog.
TheShinySword who had seen the entire event informed Wanwan of the happenings due to Naolin's inability to rip off the band-aid. Wanwan quietly accepted the events but Naolin insisted that she still liked Wanwan and apologized. Then came decision time, despite the fact the polygamy is the ultimate solution for many things (like Nanoha pairings), Naolin knew she had to pick one she just didn't know which one. After a very very very very very very long time that included a forth party trying to weasel in, a gender revelation and Tila Tequila Naolin finally made a choice but what choice was that.... you'll have to stay tuned to find out in moment.

It's hot off the presses guys the latest gossip and it can only be found right here in the pages of The Lyrical Times, your source for the latest in IRC news.
This afternoon or morning or night depending on your location a decision was finally reached in the on going love triangle between Wanwan1203, Nictory and Naolin. Originally it was just Wanwan and Naolin, who are both the mothers of local FFTer Nikki the Cat who was recently wed to TeleIce, but Nictory soon came into the picture. Then Naolin due to real life issues disappeared into the night (due to real life technical difficulties) and in desperation Nictory threw His/herself at Wanwan. Wanwan refused the person of ambiguous gender.
All was fine in the FFC until Naolin returned today (or yesterday depending on where you are), Wanwan was still absent and Nictory needed a way to apologize to Naolin for his/her wandering eyes a way that involved seducing, albeit with permission, the fanfiction writer. Just as they were about to do something not appropriate for our younger reader's eyes, Wanwan reentered the scene blissfully oblivious to what had happened due to lacking backlog.
TheShinySword who had seen the entire event informed Wanwan of the happenings due to Naolin's inability to rip off the band-aid. Wanwan quietly accepted the events but Naolin insisted that she still liked Wanwan and apologized. Then came decision time, despite the fact the polygamy is the ultimate solution for many things (like Nanoha pairings), Naolin knew she had to pick one she just didn't know which one. After a very very very very very very long time that included a forth party trying to weasel in, a gender revelation and Tila Tequila Naolin finally made a choice but what choice was that.... you'll have to stay tuned to find out in moment.

The sharp hit on my head and the familiar voice made me lift my head off my knees. Tiana stood there, hands on her hips looking thoroughly annoyed at me. Behind her I saw doctors and nurses walking the hallways. Things had quieted down, at least.

“Tia, why are you here? I thought – “

“I’m here ‘cause of you, stupid. I knew you’d be here moping”

She sighed, and then sat down on the floor beside me. She didn’t talk; I think she wanted me to.

“I screwed up…I said I’d save them. I promised I’d save them. If I hadn’t taken that risk, if I’d – “

“Yeah, you messed up for sure. Broken bones, internal bleeding…I heard the girl had third degree burns, too.”

I moaned, and dropped my head back onto my knees. Hearing it from Tiana made it even worse; she was always right about these kinds of things.

“But you know, when you finally go and visit them…”

Visit? I couldn’t even stand the thought of showing my face.

“They’ll turn to you and greet you with a smile.”

A smile? Tiana, what are you –

“I’ll bet they’ll even try to get up to shake your hand, even though they’ll be bedridden. But they’ll keep smiling, and then say thank you. Thank you, from the bottom of their hearts. Do you know why?”

I didn’t know. After what I did, I couldn’t imagine being forgiven.

Vatican Knights

Short Chapter

America, the new world, wow... it wasn't what I expected, no. To be honest it wasn't like notyhing that I had expected, the only thig I saw was an enormus wasteland, the color green of the woods of my natal England had disapeared under that yellow surrounded by that unsuportable sun, I was really disapointed

Karil at the contrarie, looked very happy, she was the first to land this continent, she looked very entusiasmed, I couldn't understand why

I hadn't saw Jasper since the last night, I was tring to avoid the idea that he could be the traitor, but... if Jasper was tired of fight, could he allie himself with Nanoha, blinded by her promises of a better world? I was so confused

We head our way to the north in wagons, the entire country looked the same, an enormus wasteland

We alredy had Vatican Knights in America since while ago,in this land filled with outlaws and bandits, it wasn't strange that the Slaves of the Dark had mayor activity there, we were heading to the Vatican Knight's quartels of America, who was leaded by another Vatican Paladin who I didn't know... yet

We arrive when it was alredy night, I had fallen asleep, beated by the sun, along with Karil, when we wake up, we saw these enormus estructures of rock, caves illuminated by torchs and improvisated houses, I couldn't belive that we were in the Quartels

When we go out of the cars, the first thing I saw wast the knights of America, Mexican bandits, renegates, gunslingers... yes, these were the Vatican Knights of America, mens laughing and drinking wisky among torches, sleeping along with the horses and pigs, drunked... he, yes, these indeed were the Vatican Knights of America

"Señor Van Hellsing" An American Knight said to the doctor

"Inform your leader that we alredy arrived"

"Si señor" He answered while he walked away

My curiosity beated me and I started to walk among this citadel, I must admit that the horses inmediatly called my atention, I got closed to some of them in the stables, I had never saw a horse so beautifulls, I pet one, I was in love,truly in love

"Hi sweety! What's your name?" Yes, I was talking to the horse, I couldn't wait to show them to Karil, when suddenly a female voice called my atention

"Good Night Cowboy... or shoul I say, Cow girl?" I turned my sight and I saw a very atractive woman looking at me, she had very adjusted clothes and to feathers attached to a band in her head. She was really beautifull

"So... you are the new Vatican Paladin. Uh?" She aksed me. Do you remeber that I told you that another Vatican Paladin leaded the Vatican Knights in America? Welll, let me introduce you to her, the leader of the Knights in the new world, Black Wolfness

Bonus drabble! Last one of the night, and it's all for Vita. "Get Closer", the final ending song to Witchblade started playing right when I reached the end, so I probably got more dramatic then I had to. Not that I'm complaining .

When did she – how did she – what the heck was Nanoha doing here?

I spared a glance at Signum and saw that stupid smirk on her face. She did this, I know it was her! I was about to rat her out, too, when a hand patted me on the head.

“Looks like it’s time for you to go in. Do your best, Vita-chan!”

“Y-yeah, thanks.”

I turned and walked to the examination room. I couldn’t face her, not yet. Not until I was finished; because this was for her.

When you were hurt, I couldn’t help you. I couldn’t do anything except scream and cry as you bled in my arms. All I did was watch you struggle in the hospital, clinging to life. Even when you stood again, when you began to walk, when you were crawling to the sky, I could only sit back and watch.

We head our way to the north in wagons, the entire country looked the same, an enormus wasteland

We alredy had Vatican Knights in America since while ago,in this land filled with outlaws and bandits, it wasn't strange that the Slaves of the Dark had mayor activity there, we were heading to the Vatican Knight's quartels of America, who was leaded by another Vatican Paladin who I didn't know... yet

We arrive when it was alredy night, I had fallen asleep, beated by the sun, along with Karil, when we wake up, we saw these enormus estructures of rock, caves illuminated by torchs and improvisated houses, I couldn't belive that we were in the Quartels

When we go out of the cars, the first thing I saw wast the knights of America, Mexican bandits, renegates, gunslingers... yes, these were the Vatican Knights of America, mens laughing and drinking wisky among torches, sleeping along with the horses and pigs, drunked... he, yes, these indeed were the Vatican Knights of America

"Señor Van Hellsing" An American Knight said to the doctor

"Inform your leader that we alredy arrived"

"Si señor" He answered while he walked away

My curiosity beated me and I started to walk among this citadel, I must admit that the horses inmediatly called my atention, I got closed to some of them in the stables, I had never saw a horse so beautifulls, I pet one, I was in love,truly in love

"Hi sweety! What's your name?" Yes, I was talking to the horse, I couldn't wait to show them to Karil, when suddenly a female voice called my atention

"Good Night Cowboy... or shoul I say, Cow girl?" I turned my sight and I saw a very atractive woman looking at me, she had very adjusted clothes and to feathers attached to a band in her head. She was really beautifull

"So... you are the new Vatican Paladin. Uh?" She aksed me. Do you remeber that I told you that another Vatican Paladin leaded the Vatican Knights in America? Welll, let me introduce you to her, the leader of the Knights in the new world, Black Wolfness
