Ep. 17 was like

I was expecting the usual routine, some stuff to think about after watching, but ep 17 was really creepy. All dolls in anime creep me out but after wathing the かりぬい PV Nina was really teryfying, even in her human form she looked kinda doll-ish. After seeing this ep I soo think that if JS had only 13 eps (without all the fillers) it would be incredebly great show.
This ep has also strengthened my feeling that Ai is too kind to continue this work and wants hajime & tsugumi to "save" her or whatever.

17's really different, but it's not bad... i like it
subtitles were done yesterday but jelly hasn't finished putting them onto the anime.

Just rushed from my long damn project which keeps me restless and not d/l any raws till my CNY hoildys, here's one of my throught on the recap.
(Well, recap is meant to be letting the late watchers to try catching up. Isn't it? )

Althrough it's a recap episode, but what the 3 voodoo dolls/helpers said is quite interesting to me at least.

They said the are cases where justice we always dealing with just couldn't work in their world.
There are some evil poeple who are using their advantages as their main weapon towards to harm others. I knew it, we knew it.
(Something like exploiting one's "week point" as episode 1, using his identify to do evil like the cop in ep2, framing others like the baseball ace in ep3, and so on episodes)

But only those weak human who must have a strong grudge towards target can get Enma Ai's help, an ultimate choice, which using one's live to pay the price for vengeance. To excute or not is one's own choice. But the saftey device of one's(harmed one) will is short, 1 single push will set off their anger, making them doing stupid things.

It seems that they start doubting Ai's action, and Hajime is trying to prevent the saftey device to set off (but always failed), which will hinders JS operations.
A face off of them is waiting to happen.

Recap isn't always good, but IMHO JS@14.5 layed something for the later.

I find it funny that we would have eps 1-9 subbed.. then we jump from 9- 14.... I'm just saying that i find it funny at the discontinuity. But, im a little new to all this. maybe i am missing something?

It's being subbed by different groups who have different preferences.

Still though, you would think people would WANT to see the epsoides one by one, in numerical order, just so that everything makes sense. I know there is no real worry for that in Hell Girl, but still, We don't know!

Well, seeing that each episode is more or less the same, you can tell pretty much what happens just by reading detailed summaries and then watching the raw. I would recommend Omni's anime blog. It has all the summaries for all the episodes so far as well as screencaps and they're pretty great.

Hmm. I've been wondering about something.

Has the "Jigoku Shoujo" all along been Ai? What if "Jigoku Shoujo" is merely as post, as in a job that is given to Ai? Is there a possibility that there were previous Hell Girls?

If, I mean if, Tsugumi used to be Jigoku Shoujo, that would certainly explain why she see those "visions". And how she was so bone-chilling convincing when she was in a trance-like state, saying Ai's most famous phrase - Would you like to see how death is like? Ai may be trying to hint that she would like to escape from being the Jigoku Shoujo and would like Tsugumi to tell her how to. That's why Ai seems so respectful towards Tsugumi. Or, perhaps Tsugumi just has a high spriritual density, that's all. That' just a scenario I made up.

Well, she did say that when she saw her, she felt nostalgic. I think that maybe Ai was perhaps Tsugumi is really ( wait for it , wait for it) Ai's sister, but somehow, Ai became the Hell Girl. or maybe Tsugumi is being prepared to become the next Hell Girl? I hadent thought of the Tsugumi was the old Hell girl theory, but I like it. Who knows..

Tsugumi is the reporter's supposed daughter. And the reporter is Hajime.

Sorry to disturb you, but there aren't any english fansubs for 10-13 so you don't have any options unless you speak Japanese or Spanish. He's referring to episode 17 by Jelly. They subbed episodes 14-17 only.

Ep 17 was awesome. They really are changing the way they present the main theme and I like it! Especially since it breaks the tired old mold.

So now I guess we can assume that there are ghosts who are sort of in between
the living and the dead. But it seemed kind of random for them to introduce this concept now since there were alot of situations in previous eps where there were very strong emotions but no ghosts?

What was the point of that one doctor scene and the worm? I assume maybe it has something to do with Nina's disease?
