It's...painful to watch...

That's the best way I can describe it. There's lot of focus on them (too much, sometimes) and Felicia acts like some highschool girl as well but at certain times, she does show that she's the woman of the relationship.

She reminds me of an EXTREMELY toned down DS from the manga BASTARD! Similiar premise and even beginning but from there, it's two totally different monsters.

ohh ending of v9 was amazing.... the tournament ends great ending with everything and the development between F x F in this volume is overflowing especially how it all ended this author sure knows how to tug on ya. Felix annoys sometimes but is very little he is always willing tp put it on the line especially if its Felicia

That's what usually happens when they do volume releases and even more for the fact that it's a joint project...

So there is a thread for this

anyways, having read pretty much all of his other works (minus Zero, which is too far tragic for my tastes, as well as Phantom knight), I just picked this up a couple days ago. Sadly, I can't say very much; I'm only on ch. 3. But, if this is similar to any of his other works, then I'll be plowing through it

btw, if anyone checks out mangatoshokan, notice how this guy's works are all the bolded ones...

... hopefully this won't count as a double post...

anyways, it did turn out to be like all his other works, it would seem... ended up plowing through all scanlated chapters, and it was a very touching moment at the end of ch 53... dammit, I hope vol 10 goes on sale within the next month or two. That way, even if I have to wait for the scanlations, the RAWs should hopefully appear. And I don't suppose anyone has any idea of how to find out when 10 goes on sale (or maybe it is already on sale...?)

You can't translate what hasn't been released, people are waiting on the next volume to come out.

Tried this one out......

Hmmm, decent but not one of his better works in my opinon, I mean Felix is your normal wimpy kid with the latent super friggin awesome ability and Felicia (while fairly amusing in her own right) is the bombastic kick ass lady who has weakness for said wimpy kid.

Well, the awesome art like in all Dal-Yung's manga helps sell it so, meh it's ok.

Yeah, the story is pretty generic but enough to keep my interest. The art is pretty amazing.

It's like junk food. It's actually pretty bad, as far as fantasy goes, but you don't really mind.

As said, Felix is a wimp with an overpowered berserk button that we've seen before, and Felicia isn't all that charismatic for a world-conquering goddess. The characters *tell* us she's Epic After All when it comes down to it, but I don't really see that. What's worse the manga isn't afraid to pile on the clichés and the sappiness.

Yet somehow you kind of want it to turn out good. Manga with fantasy elements is everywhere, but straight out classic high fantasy manga is actually pretty rare.

That's a good way of putting it, "junk food". It's decent.

Still Lim-Dal Young has put out tastier snacks, like Freezing for example.

See I think see Freezing as more problematic then this series. That one is just frustrating.

You know you could actually tag all of Young's works as junk food, Legend of Maian is my favorite cause of it's setting but if I had to say I do think that UxU is probably the best series overall but all in all, all his works lack....not so much alot of stuff but enough to say they are pretty "meh", it's really a thankful thing the art is top notch.

Here's hoping Felix's mans up alot and stays manly when he does. I'm actually growing tired of guys have that moment of manliness and then reverting back to their wimpy ways when the moment passes.

All of those are by the same person. He has a couple more like Phantom King and ReBirth: Lunatic Taker. I don't like him working on so many at once. I personally find Freezing the least enjoyable out of all his works. Not saying that I don't like it just least enjoyable.

Probably are.

Just by looking at them, I can tell that all the illustrators are different.

Favorite illustrations are easily the one for Orihime VS, but frankly they all are good.

And like the great Bill Waterson said, if you don't have great writing, you better go for broke on the art.

I love LoM, but cant stand how sometimes Im Dal Young goes on hiatus FOR YEARS AT A FRICKIN TIME with all of his manhwa....good thing he has plenty to choose from in the meantime.....I enjoy all his works, and UxU is FINALLY getting new releases after one of those two year hiatuses
