No think but lost today. I'm starting to hate the T-70 already. For some reasons I kept being at the bottom tier. Gun can't pen for shit, even if I'm shooting the KV-1 from behind. The tank is too big and too slow for a light tank.

If the comet is the best Tier 7 medium, the others must be really bad

I'll post this link again, for the bits of discussion therein.

At the moment the Comet and T20 are the only non-premium Tier 7 mediums that I either kept or, in the case of the T20, went back to.

T23 really should have been the T7 instead of the T20...

Ah, this again? The M4's gun at tier 7 isn't really viable. (I'm ignoring the .50 cal as a placeholder.)

Yep, I pretty much kept my Comet as well. Got a good win rate on it too (pushing 59% at this point), so I'm likely doing SOMETHING right with it.

(Also likely because all the other tier 7 mediums just didn't catch my fancy)

I guess I'm content with my T20. Is the Pershing worth grinding for?

Currently working my ass for the sweet T69.

Don't expect it to perform well in one aspect (sniping etc), but it does good in a broad range of others. Pretty middle of the road really, which makes it very flexible.

Also the T69 was seriously hurt by the nerf to high-end HEAT rounds.

I unexpectedly got an Invincible ribbon tonight, for my SU-85B. Sometimes lurking in the bushes not being seen pays off...

You mean the premium rounds? I don't really use them so I guess it doesn't affect me.

Thing is, the T69's HEAT rounds is what made the tank so deadly. Compare it to its standard AP rounds (which I think has less pen than even the IS-6's AP), and you'll see what I mean.

Postnerf T69 90mm: 173/250/45 mm

Pershing 90mm: 180/268/45 mm

IS-6 122mm: 175/217/61 mm

I remember the T69's HEAT being better before too. Right now the gun's only advantage is that it's an autoloader.

Meanwhile, in the OCD department: I was using gold free XP conversion to get some free XP. Now that I've gotten essentially what I needed out of it, I want to stop, except that I also don't want to have any leftover points of XP remaining on any vehicles. So I'm poking at the remainder with one tank, hoping that the XP from each game ends up adding up to a multiple of 25 when added to my 2 points of leftover research XP.

I should just get a LOLtraktor and drive it into a lake a few times, or something.

T69 nearly useless without HEAT, unless you plan to get the T54E1 and T57 Heavy, don't bother with it, or use gold round, nerfed as it is, it still deady.

I've managed to recover the accuracy deficit created by trying to speedgrind the M3 Lee with a bad crew and by trying to hit things with the 3.7-inch artillery piece on the Alecto. It occurs to me that there's going to be a hard limit on how high I can raise my accuracy percentage, but 75% seems at least possible.

Carrying failure: Just had a Highway game where two T40s killed 13 tanks on my team. In the end it was the two of them versus myself in a 38t, an M3 Lee, and a Hetzer. The Lee and Hetz managed to kill one of them at the enemy base (with one casualty), while I was simply hoping to reset the other one's 80% cap progress at our base and ended up killing it entirely with one shot.

I took the slower but much less obvious dirt ramp up from the riverbank, instead of the bridge. The T40 did detect me as I came out of the bushes, but was facing toward the bridge.

Urgh....is it really that bad? How come a tank from a best tier 8 turn into useless just because of the gold rounds nerf?

And I just started my grind for the M7 to boot.

Well, that's just it... it goes from having four shots in ten seconds that will very likely all penetrate to four shots in ten seconds that aren't necessarily all going to go through, which reduces the advantage of having the autoloader.

I guess as a flanker, it's still good, right? As long as I know where to shoot.

Had a few matches in the TOG last night. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it, although the problem with TOG is that if you make a mistake as to where the action is, you're not exactly capable of quickly responding to new threats. One game on Ensk I basically spent crawling towards the action, which kept shifting away and away from me. Everyone on both teams had a laugh at my pleas for the action to just stay in one place so I could contribute.

That's the nice thing about TOG. Everyone likes it. Even when they're shooting at it.

One of these days, I'll need to hook up with Velocity's TOG players and run a TOG platoon. Also, I'm now starting to wish I'd gotten more premium ammo during the sale ;_;
