Oh that game, I thought it was just the closing arc story since it had the same name as the anime second series.

Speaking of art, I am wondering does anyone know where (as in what country or culture) Rena's clothes and hat originate from? I have came across Rena look-alikes or clothing that resembles Rena's. I once came across a pic with a character that dresses like Rena carrying a magic wand except the hair color is a darker color of brown and the characters beside this look-alike are totally unrecognizable.....

They're kind of in a permanent "will release a new version soon" state. But as you may know Sagubooru is (supposed to be) based on Danbooru, which is back online (though only safe images):

About the pics in the previous pages where Rena is cosplaying as a "dragoon"? holding a unique looking spear. What character/anime/game reference does this point to?? It even came up in the art book and I thought... hmm thats was kinda random.... sure there was text beside it in the book but not understanding Japanese makes me not understand the joke.........

Rena is based off the FFV character of the same name. It's a throwback to her origins. Ah, the nostalgia of oldschool gaming...

Butz: Rena, I'm going with you to the Wind Shrine to save your dad.

Rena: USO DA *gains 50 levels spontaneously and murders Butz with a cleaver*

Later Butz is brought back with a Phoenix Down, but frightening images fade in and out of his memory. He eventually goes insane and claws his throat out, leaving Rena and the rest of the party to go kill Exdeath and save the world. They do and then Rena moves to Hinamizawa.

...Or did I get a little mixed up there?

Did the original authors rent the FFV Rena design from squareEnix? The company shows up in the credits. But then again it could be based on a Rena lookalike with a different name since these names in this anime are meant to be generic.

Mm, no. Ryukichi07 has stated that Rena is based on the FFV Rena. The others might be generic, but Rena is from FFV.
