So those two managed to get away from the city, but not from the curse.
It was kinda funny how they just casually borrow someones house.
Flashback to their childhood days was a nice addition to the story.
At least we found out how those two became close friends.
Nice, relaxing episode ^^

Spoiler for 4:

I have some mixed feelings since I don't know wether to be worried about the extremely slow pace or to be curious about the direction it's going to take.

Sounds like Princess has a little budding crush (<3) on our main character Yoshino :P.

Also, what doesn't make sense to me is the aftereffects of the crash. The dudes helmet was torn to pieces, even the characters in the anime said it was a terrible crash, etc, yet Mashiro just got away with a few broken bones and scratches? A direct hit like that does NOT= broken arm and few scratches.

Something isn't adding up, and given what we know about magic/healing magic, magic is likely the answer to this mystery. Question is, why was magic "protecting" Mashiro? And who was it?

Given the characters that were introduced to us so far, the only "person" i could deduce/speculate as someone containing magic WHO WOULD WANT to help/protect MAshiro would be Mashiro's sister, which could potentially tie in to why she was murdered since we learned in episode 2 that there was magic involved with her death.

Though, the only thing that wouldn't add up with this speculation of mine, then, is just that given what we were told so far, seems like there is only one family with magic? And the magic world probably isn't too huge, and so if Mashiro's sister did in fact have healing magic, how would the princess not know? Princess should've known. Unless there's more to this magic world than we know and there are other "humans" or "wizards" or w/e you wanna call 'em that have magic as well.

Fun episode, I really want to know more about the princess though. I liked the backstory we got on these two.

Wait a frigging minute... Mahiro came out of the car alone in that 3rd grade flashback? Where the frig is Aika then, since if they're siblings they should go to the same elementary? Does this mean Aika might have been adopted?

And bah, me thinking Aika and Yoshino were childhood friends was because Yoshino and Mahiro were childhood friends. Now that Aika's relation by blood to Mahiro isn't so clear, I'm actually doubting YoshinoXAika's status as osananajimi.

Although wow, Yoshino's powers of deduction is of Sherlock Holmes caliber (how is he thinking that Mahiro is smarter than him again?). If anyone can solve this mystery, it would be him.

Might be a bit hasty in reaching that conclusion. For all we know Aika went to some all-girls school during that time. Unless they don't have those at the elementary school level. I mean look at episode 2, when Aika was going into that school it was all girls going in the same direction. Could say the only reason Yoshino met Aika was because she was Mahiro's sister.

Don't think you need to give up on the osananajimi status quite yet .

Nice flashback helped flesh out Mahiro and Yoshino's character a lot. The pacing and direction was handled well and we got some nice closure in the end with Mahiro and the petrified kids.

Yoshino disliking celery just absolved him of any possible guilt in the death of Mahiro's sister.

Anyone who dislikes celery has to be a good guy in my book.

The surgical scar under Mahiro's left chest suggested splenectomy, i.e. having his spleen removed. Spleen rupture is quite common in such situations.

This whole anime-original ep is somewhat mixed for me. While the underlying sentiments is nicely woven, which is missing from the manga, I really cant like those Fujoshi-services.

That was a very nice breather episode that did well to expand upon Yoshino and Mahiro's relationship.

love it! some background into the relationship between the two main characters. It was funny to see Yoshino playing a trick on Mahiro, and with Mahiro admitting at the end of the influence Yoshino had on him.

Ah, it's nice to have someone who understands biology/doctor surgery stuff/whatever you would classify this under.

Guess that one detail tore my speculation apart.

edit:
Though wait a second! I just thought of something. How come the guy didn't escape? They had a whole escape route planned right? According to Yoshino at least, so something is still weird about that story, hmph!

Because the culprit getting himself hurt in the process wasn't part of the plan. He was meant to do a hit-and-run but somehow screwed up and landed both of them in the hospital.

Mark me down as really loving ep4. Beautifully done.

And the fact that Yoshino and Mahiro as boys were played by Kuwashima Houko and Sanpei Yuuko just goes along with the overall good quality of the episode. Written by Okada, storyboard by Director Andou.

Or Mashiro - who saw it coming - dodged a bit and was only hit with a glancing blow, while the mugger hit a wall just after.

Here's a lesson for all the villains. Don't try to run over a kid with a motorcycle if you really want to kill the boy, especially when you have a high chance of getting caught or screwing up.

I certainly hope it becomes anime original material from here on out. Even having to deal with all the future posts about how it's not doing this or that or the other thing, anime original threads are a lot more interesting to speculate in, since you don't have all these people trying to pretend they don't know what's going on while taking part in that "speculation".
