It's not apart of the OP, it's just a scene they're showing before the OP plays. As to why they keep showing it --- it plays an important part in the story, though saying that it's unclear if it'll keep on appearing before the OP in upcoming episodes.

As for the people wondering when Luna will appear --- that will probably happen when a flashback episode appears, and i can't see that happening at least until we're past episode 10. It's a huge factor to the story, it's the question that Casshern wants to know the most, so they won't show it right near the beginning.

As for Luna being dead, we've heard that Casshern killed her, though that's nothing really to go by. She's known for having some mysterious powers, so i wouldn't be surprised if she's actually alive somewhere.

But that's the basic premise for the title as we were informed a few pages back. Chick's gone and turned to dust.

Maybe she was linked to the environmental control of the planet. Killing her was like killing Gaia. And this eternal life stuff is that her powers got transferred to Casshern who was traumatised when he realised what he had done and has forgotten. He was prob under control of Braiking in a lesser form of Beserk mode and that could be another reason why he doesn't remember.

This series is going to go down as a must see, I think. It's just so artfully done and the story is so captivating. I was excited that Gundam 00 started, but so far, this series has made that look like a joke. It's so beautiful.

The second episode was depressing, but at the same time, puts so much into context. I can't help but pity Casshern. He's so lost and alone.

Oh and Friender is badass. Seriously.

In the first episode, when Ringo hands Casshern the "prettiest" shell she had collected, Casshern bends down to thank her. When she hugs him, she says "Thank you" and he gets the flashback of Luna as she touches his face. So, my line of thinking is that perhaps she thanked him before he killed her. Perhaps because she realized that her death would bring the ruin and that the ruin, for whatever reason, was a good thing.

That would be interesting. Did Casshern, at the time, know that he would be bringing the ruin?

Casshern caused an entire village of robots to go crazy because they wanted to stay alive. He subsequently went berserk and slaughtered them all. Poor girl. All she wanted to quiet die together with his boyfriend.... Episode 2 totally sold me on this series. Doesn't remember what happened, or what he even is. Instead gets all these robots going around trying to kill him at any given time. I definitely get desperation to survive kind of thing, but are all these robots idiots? You see this guy rip apart someone that you had no hope of doing anything to and yet you think you can kill Casshern? Its like telling someone if they can kill a god they can live forever.....good luck. One thing I'm still trying to figure out is the berserk mode he goes into. Never knowing what you might end up doing when going into that state. I don't get how killing Luna means the end of the world or even if he did it. Sure everyone blames it on him, but the flashback is incomplete. Answers would be nice, but hard to say if answers mean anything. Its not going to do anything about what's already been destroyed. Can't even say that it can stop what's currently going on. Pretty interesting series, even if its a bit depressing when you think about it. __________________ Anime-Evo
