Those funny portration of the sailors are nonthing more than standard practice of the comedy. In the comedical acts, a lot of things are just exaggerated to make things funnier. Also, those exaggerated Engrish makes it easier for Japanese viewers to understand what they 're saying. It's no different from everything else they've done in the show - unrealistic, really out of whack, slap stick comedy.

Maybe the ending should be: Shizuka tells Ryo that since the experiment didn't work, the government will give up their arranged marriage plan for the world. They break up the arranged marriage and stay friends. This time around, Shizuka has to show Ryo that she really cares about him, even without the binding government plans. she becomes less clingy and crazed.

Well, episode 11 was a tear jerker (...welll, actually it wasn't). It seemed pretty emotional. It seems like we finally get to see the real Shizuka.
We are also treated to a new ED (likely only for this episode).

Well... since I don't really understand Japanese... I can't really say much on WHAT Shizuka said but HOW she said it was pretty touching. No I am not rooting for Shizuka, I'm still waiting for more moving Ryo/Emiho scenes which will never happen. This episode is definitely the clear turning point. Shizuka bares her feelings but in the end Ryo cannot kiss her... then she runs out saying she hates him. Uh huh, how long will that last.

I think was she's talking about her grampa's past. She was talking about this a rich wealthy young man (her grampa) who loved this girl, but she was just an common ordinary citizen. But because of personal status, they were split up. The wealthy man's friends persuaded him to marry someone else, a female with a superior status. The husband forgot about the original girl he loved, until his current wife passed away a year ago. Then he remembered his old love, but that original girl has already passed away. He had a daughter (Shizuka) around the same age as two other children (Ryo and Akane). And so on an so forth. Don't take this as something that's set in stone though, as I had a hard time understanding simplified Chinese . If I said something wrong, please correct me.

Anyways, the ending scene may make people hate Ryo. As for why Ryo refused that kiss, I think Ryo has someone else in mind, maybe someone else he likes. It's not because he dislikes Shizuka. He said to Shizuka "Currently, you're not the one at fault". If it's not Shizuka, then it's himself. And the credits rolled in the end ? There's one more episode right?

I found time to watch ep 11 myself, but I don want to spoil since you've pretty much did it for me, but wow, I have to say, the moment Emiho left the school, I knew right away what an emotional ep this was going to be. And not bad for a approx 13 min ep, now it makes me want to see ep 12 as much as I want to see ep 12 for Kakyusei2 lol. There is 13 eps right ......

I predict a Rizelmine style ending. Now, this is just speculation,

I think Shizuka's gonna forget the old man, I mean, she had her memories with him, now time to say goodbye to Ojiisan since he doesn't look like he's gonna live longer than Ryo. I mean, she'd rather choose Young Ryo than Old Ojiisan....Hey wait, I know my japanese is bad, but did I just say what ep 11 was about...More like Ryo needs to make his mind straight, I really think he's gonna either get Shizuka and Ojiisan back together, or get it right with her.

Shizuka's Granddad found out that his orginal love has 2 grandchildren, Ryo and Akane. And the reason Shizuka seeked out Ryo is because of her grandfather's wishes (or something like that) At the start Shizuka is more... extreme is due to the fact that she was also uncertain about Ryo as well and the reason she did not tell all this is that she did not want Ryo's pity.
But now she has fallen for Ryo I guess and wants to stay with his even if it's because of pity. And I guess she was pretty pissed that Ryo accepted her applogies but did not accept her feelings.

Well, another guilt trip episode to make us like Shizuka. Now that I understand her a bit, I don't really dislike her but I would still prefer Emiho. I guess the next episode will be Ryo dealing with her leaving and the last one will be him bring Shizuka back for a happy ending (for everyone but me I guess)

The episode itself wasn't that exciting, but it was the type of episode that needed to happen as well. I think Ryo is starting to feel some sympathy towards Shizuka even though he tries to hide it.

As for Shizuka's dad, for some reason he reminded me of Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget with that damn cat.
