Back to episode 12. My goodness, like everyone else has said. Flags were being raised like crazy this episode, and for a few minutes I thought it was safe until she had to go ahead and say "So it's okay if I'm not your hostage anymore."
Oh shining finger Moeka-san, how could you. Though that outfit was a good choice. Surprisingly good. So I guess with this episode it's further confirmed that part-time soldier is from the future. So what's the deal with Kurisu? Is she really going to become a spy? And if so, for what reason? I don't see her turning her back on Okabe so easily, so what is it?

That's what I'm led to believe too, but I'm hesitant to say that because Part-time soldier is so angry at her. If she really was forced to do it, then I don't see part-time soldier being as upset, or why she should be so upset.

I wish the next episode would come. Wait, does this episode also expel the notion that Daru is Suzu's father? They partied together, and there were no hints. Also, where were the other lab members?

Okay for just some comments about the episode itself. So the reason why SERN didn't do anything up until now was because they were most likely observing the experiments the entire time, up until when Moeka probably joined the club. This might also explain why Daru was confused as to how SERN could have set up a direct link to their computer, even though he was so confident in his hacking skills; Moeka was probably the one who set up the link. SERN didn't want to impede the experiments directly, so they just simply waited and watched as the work was being done for them, clever bastards. Suzuha is clearly aware of SERN's modus of operandi and immediately bolted from the scene before it was too late. It was only when Okarin's decision to give the machine to an appropriate organization that SERN acted; it threatened their control of the time leap device after all.
Although, I'm still not quite sure what to make of the apparent time stop that occurred during the raid; Mayuri's stopped watch, and the hourglass' sand being held in place seemed to indicate some sort of temporal anomoly, but my guess is as good as anyone else. Mayuri's death flags were so apparent, but I give extra kudos for the direction of how they handled it, especially the scene on the rooftop; I was tearing up a bit watching that scene. And when the event occurred it felt like I was the one being shot, although I half-expected for Okarin to jump in to save Mayuri, just like he did when he protected her from the Phone Microwave. |

I liked the music for Kurisu/Okabe blushing scene. I also expected Mayuri to die, but I thought she would be killed alone not in front of her friends.
The animation was superb, it improved or I am just happy to see a new episode? I really want the next episode or at least tomorrow's preview.

Holy crap! Damn you Shining Finger!
Knew SERN was bound to make a move eventually, really I was surprised they took this long. Though I suppose the fact that this group managed to surpass their results made them more eager to see just how far Okabe's group could go. The Time Leap machine is a huge step even if it has a limitation of 48 hours. Timing it right can change quite a lot of things. Guess SERN was just waiting for a development like this, but also for the lab to say that's enough. Since there wasn't anything more to gain from observing them it was time to move in. Guess my thoughts on Suzuha's thinking were pretty accurate. She's judging Kurisu not for what she's doing now, but what she expects from her in the future. If she was a big part of SERN I can understand Suzuha's feelings, but judging someone for what they haven't done yet and what they might never do isn't right. Still smart senses realizing things were going bad and she had to get out before the raid hit. I wonder what she might do since it appears she slipped past them. Still I didn't think Mayuri would end this episode being shot. There is hope of course since the Time Leap or even a D-Mail could undo this by diving onto a different world line. If they know what SERN's actions are going to be they could get out of this. Got another cute moment with Okabe and Kurisu, but with the serious ending of this episode tough to appreciate it.

The power of Moeyuri triumphs all, she was able to break the ice between Suzuha and Kurisu's stalemate so easily.
Daru tripping his own death flags was hilarious. A true otaku indeed. Mayuri should have kept the lightsaber. |
