I thought Mami was thinking alright. She had the wherewithall to tie up Homura, preventing Homura from using her time stop to escape or resist, before she killed Kyoko. I agree with her feeling guilty about what she may have done to encourage the MG image.

Mami never had a choice or not to become a MG or not; she had figured out that doing this was better than dying. While that illusion was shattered, she just gave up, because it turned out to be even worse and she had encouraged others to do it. The only way to atone was to put others out of their misery now.

Mami's breakdown makes a lot of sense.
"You mean, being a magical girl is nothing more than a pyramid scheme that turns us into witches? OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE?!!!!!" But seeing her in breakdown makes me want to hug her and comfort her.

It certainly makes sense for her to become horrified and think that all of the magical girls should die instead of turning into witches.
However... Walpurgis Night still needs to be dealt with. That's why Madoka is the one who made the right choice in this instance.

I am surprised to see Mami-san being upset and killing Kyoko when she realized the truth.
I believed she was the mentally toughest Puella Magi. What will she do after killing Kyoko, Sayaka, Madoka and Homura? I suspect she don't have the courage to commit suicide.

Mami was clearly the most fragile from the very start.

And I am of the opinion that Kyouko's mentally stronger than Homura. Homura was ready to give up at the third time-line, and definitely broke by the fourth. |

Sayaka lasted barely a week as an MG:
Day 1: Contracted, killed Kristen Day 2: Fought Kyoko Day 3: Kyoko, round 2, Soul Gem revelation Day 4: Moped around at home, pep talk by Kyoko. Day 5: Hitomi ultimatum. Breaks down and goes nuts on Elsa Maria, blows off Madoka Day 6: Sees Hitomi with Kyosuke, takes out frustration on familiars, Soul Gem goes critical, shatters, Oktavia is born, Sayaka is dead. Day 7: Oktavia killed by Kyoko's suicide attack. |

I loved seeing Mami again, as im a big fan.
But, totally not a fan of how they portrayed her in the scene where she dies by madoka. I mean, maybe i was the only one but in the beginning i thought mami and modaka were going to be as close as homura was to modaka in episode 10. ~Not sure if you guys get my comparison~ |

Certainly Madoka killed Mami-san with her shot, but she did so to relieve both Mami-san and Homura. This was the only way to release her from her anguish.

It would make sense for all the girls to put their feelings aside and place Walpurgis Night as the highest priority if Puella Magi were heroines as Mami thought. However, it turns out that they never had a duty to help others, so they have no responsibility to deal with Walpurgis Night when it will result in them becoming a Witch or dying every time. |
