Plot

Kazuhiro Kitase's only hobby is sleeping. Ever since he was young, he would enter a wondrous world within his dreams and go on thrilling adventures. One day, he goes on an adventure with an elf girl he became friends with in his dream world, but it's put to an abrupt halt when they both get scorched with a dragon's breath! It almost didn't happen, since apparently the novels were very close to being cancelled in Japan.

J-Novel Club's CEO claims overseas sales of the English-translated novels helped save the series from cancellation; however the JP releases are digital-only now.

I didn't know, if the series isn't that popular it's strange it's getting an anime.
Unless the anime becomes very successful and ignite a lot of interest in the series, I will not expect to get many more volumes if that's how things are.

Maybe it's just the Light Novel which isn't Popular, while the Manga is Popular.

And this is possible considering that they revealed the Anime Adaptation News through the Magazine Site which publishes the Manga.
Usually Anime Adaptation News comes from either Author or Studio or the publisher who does the Light Novel (if the series has one).

I could see why. I read the manga for a while, and while it is slow which isn't a problem, the entire premise felt squandered.

The majority of what I read, nearly all of it was time in the isekai world, NOT Japan. What's the point of the premise?

Iirc novel readers had the same opinion as well.

They thought the fantasy world sections (esp. the dungeon diving parts) was more tedious and draggy, compared to the much better written romance/SOL stuff in the Earth Japan sections.

That's not something I expected to hear. I usually see the opposite in terms of how people receive stuff .
