I'd still watch it, but the unbelievably bland art definitely takes away from the overall experience.

Maybe the revenge arc is better left unanimated.

ill watch it still, they have kept those awesome background music from the old series, those sound effects are awesome, and nah the art and animation is not bad at all to me its fluid!!!

Jesus, what awful looking faces. What ridiculously bland art. What utter lack of detail. What pasty and lifeless colours.

Seriously, about the only little bit of faith I had left in this was that it'd at least look good, but they're not even gonna get that right. I am now fully convinced that this has to be some kind of evil masterplan by DEEN in order to effectively kill off the Rurouni Kenshin franchise for good.

Animated Jinchu arc will forever remain a dream, it seems. *sigh* Hell, like yellowscarves said, if it's going to be done in the same manner as this OVA, it might be preferable for it to remain so. Don't wanna see it getting butchered for a second time.

aniplex move with taking the fate series off deen was something that pleasd many fans, and clearly the right move, i dont see why they didnt do the same with this.

As bland as the art is and as disappointed as I am with what they've decided to animate, I can't help but get a jolt out of hearing Suzukaze Mayo and Ikeda Masanori, and that BGM... What a shame that we don't have ufotable or I.G. doing a TV of Jinchu instead of this silliness.

Looks like they bleached the color palette or something. Has that distinct washed out look that most Deen shows seem to have. It always amazes me just how cheap this studios stuff always seems to look.

edit: Holy crap this is a movie?! It looks worse almost worse than your average TV series. Even by Deen standards this is kind of scary.

The story being crappy has already become a given as soon as they announced that they were condensing the Kyoto arc in two episodes. Like I said, it looking good was the only possible source of respite left, but now we know we won't be getting that either.

I think the only good thing that might come out of this project= More Kenshin Merchandise.

Of course the best thing to come out of it would be the Jinchu arc finally being animated, but after this disappointment I won't hold my breath.
