I'd say his snarkiness and willingness to help everyone he meets counts too.

Tomoya, meanwhile, pranks everyone who's dumb enough to let him, which thankfully is almost the entire cast.

Ridiculous sideburns? First you guys insult his mullet, and now this.

We should have a poll for Kyon's hair.

Like or dislike.

I vote like.

I vote haircut.

KyoAni seems to have the same idea, with their most recent art of Kyon...

Oh in case you guys don't know, every episode except the main Yuuutsu line, the character's hair is of different lengths. Its the detail for time of the year, how long they've kept their hair.

In April when the school started, Kyon had the shortest and such.

You may see the new designs for S2, but they are probably just longer hair for later parts of the year, we may see december and such. But most likely if kyoani still had their level of detailing, we will see Kyon's shorter hair as well for the bulk of summer holidays.

EDIT: for now, I suppose is 2 like : 1 dislike for Kyon's hair lol

No, his hair is actually spikier. Looks more like Yuuichi's, actually.

You mean the new design right? By spikier, I suppose you mean bulkier, that's the only way I see it. The increased bulk is the main change for all characters.

But, just to let you know, I like both the old and new hair.

Umm... not to be rude or anything, but this is "The Genderbending of Haruhi Suzumiya," so it'd probably be best to keep the various unrelated GB discussions in the Seitenkan group.

It only works if used as the sliders via either "Kyonko's Diary" or Tunafish's Visual Novel. (I remember it had Fuko, Kanata, and some others)

By taking your conclusion to the logical extreme, and welding in some on-topic discussion, I conclude that Kyonko's hair is stupid, and should be cut!

Discuss.

It's the usual problem with translation. Japanese doesn't focus on tenses as much as English does, and changes in tense usually involve explicit extra words. When they're present, Baka-Tsuki does translate them correctly (almost always past tense and variations thereof). Otherwise, it switches back and forth.

From experience, even writing original fic, it's hard enough to keep tenses straight. (I'd mention reading published works which have tense problems as well, but those are usually media tie-ins, which aren't exactly rigorously edited.)

I find it interesting that Baka-Tsuki's reputation among MoHS fans oscillates between "horribly inaccurate" and "pretty close to the source". For what it's worth, comparing their work and the (original Japanese) books I own, they haven't had any major errors in translation yet.

This is the most active topic on the Haruhi board, so I say we can talk about whatever we like here...

No, because her hair is hot and awesome.

There are still smaller issues, though. Professionally paid translators would probably be able to get rid of those, but...

Most active...but should generally hold on to topic. The Social Group has been designated for CRACK purposes. Though given the size of this thread, CRACK has and will happen.

Stop dissing my hair! At the moment, I basically have the same hair as him. But yeah, I need a haircut.

Any children they produce would be pure freebase snark.

PS. Kohaku (Tsukihime) is another good character type to base Yui on.

Beware, for your blasphemy, the ponytail stalker is after you now.

On further thought, Kyon's hair is appropriate for his character; it makes him look normal compared to Koizumi's ultra stylized fringe or Taniguchi's slicked back greasiness. It's still stupid though, in that it's not a hairstyle you'd want on your own head.

1: It's the internet.
B: It's a translation of something foreign.

The varying opinions are rather natural.

Its been a long time since I've read Bakatsuki and I didn't read them all since I read my own novels. The last time my bro checked the translations, he came and told me they are some major plot details translated wrongly.

Well, I'm not sure which part.
