Okay, since poor Tsukasa was cut off sharply in the preview, we're left with little to guess on.

But a few things:
- Miyuki's "manly" other side
- Kagamin trying out Kona's manga
- Akira backlash on Shirashi for taking her pigtail role (TWIN DORIRU!)
- According to the official website (which just had a Shirashi section open), Shirashi would be revealing his likes and dislikes soon.
- More of Izumi-chi-chi

- Whatever happened to Kagamin's goldfish?

Since the preview was barely a preview I'm going to guess at what happens:

- Konata beats the British Distance Runner at the sports festival

- Miyuki is traumatized by the dentist and then faints when she sees a Shin
Getter Robo 2 model that Konata is carrying.

- Kagami FINALLY takes up sumo wrestling at the sports festival and wears a fat
suit that perfectly resembles her fat version from last episode.

- Tsukasa does something so Moe the entire universe melts.

- Akira starts to talk and I come in with a foam bat and proceed to beat on her
for a minute and a half.

- Yui borrows a gun steals a car tries to run but she can't get far. In the Ghetto.

- Teach gets sunburnt while trying to get a tan and has to find a way to cope
with the pain.

- Minoru grows a pair and joins me in foam batting Akira.

It would be insanely funny and very interesting if the Akira-Minoru complex gradually grows completely backwards and by the end Minoru finds himself ordering Akira around. Then he foam bats her.

maybe the super short preview was their way of saying "We don't have anything to show so let's end it on a humorous note!"

Also hello everyone, this being my first post as a user here.

It was a parody of all the other shows that do/have done something similar. (ex. Bleach early eps) Just that it would be logically Tsukasa who would end up in that situation.

Because of other downloads, I have been watching the last few episodes really, really late. I feel a little tempted to watch it RAW this week.

WHY!? Just WHY do you people try to find references in every single frame to other stuff?!

They put a short preview because they fucking wanted to. It's ridiculous to link it with some other show, because it's something extremely generic, it's not something particularly characteristic of a specific series/manga/whatever. There are shows with shorter previews than that, or with no preview at all.

People need to realize that being a show with many references doesn't mean that everything is a reference to something else.

They did a short preview because Haruhi...wait hold on....wait.....okay it was a homage to er...that one episode of Haruhi where they didn't do the opening and...aw screw it.

@wanderingknight: I feel your aggravation --- the series actually does get most of its material from the manga after all (outside of the explicit references) and much of the stuff is just part of nostalgic japanese school culture. I remember wasting a lot of time on the usenet-animaniacs forum deciding whether or what something was referencing (and often it was a layered reference).

Of course, the animaniacs people were intentionally layering things. The difficulty with Lucky*Star is that it adapting source manga material and is already immersed in standard cultural artifacts and common directing techniques.

It aggravates me more seeing others get into a hissy fit about it than the actual people who see references in everything... I know it's silly to see references that aren't there but it would be a lot nicer to just point out that it's probably not a reference instead of blowing up at it. There's a difference between letting someone know they've made a mistake and making them feel like they're stupid.

Now... I'm so disappointed I won't be able to download and watch the ep 'till later this week.

I wonder if at some point Tsukasa will be able to do the preview with enough time... or maybe she'll have time to spare at some point, but won't know what to say .

You would be right about people looking everywhere... except that the lines are exactly the same. Beside, it's a style parody since they showed absolutely nothing. It's not a specific reference to any series. There are other ways to do parody beside referencing something specific.

Episode 8 2ch discussion

Spoiler for Something about episode 8:

ETA: I think what the 2ch people are referring to is the fact that her birthday is today in Japan. Sorry guys, false alarm.

ETA2: ED is "Monkey Magic?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5G43...elated&search=)

I'm afraid that there's nothing about Kona's birthday in this Ep. Summer's over and it's the school's sports day.

Soujiro make his official debut in this Ep.

I'm begining to understand why this episode is titled as such now looking at Miyuki's advantage......

I'm afraid music isn't one of your talents, Tsukasa. And even if you are born first, you're not destined to be the smart one.

That's was pretty fast for that Newtype issue and yes, I've read your article, Kona. Now cool it.
