Ok, I finally got the time to watch the first season (Holidays spare time). I really love that series. Then again, I liked Oum's previous short clips, so... I like the characters, I like the premise and I like the action. The animations could use more polishing and the sets could use more lighting and shadows. The voice acting could also be more engaging. I feel like the deliveries were sometimes bland. I finally also wished that they made every episode either 15 minutes long or 20 minutes long.

One last thing: this series needs a video game, be a retro 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up, a fighting game or a 3D action like DMC, Bayonetta and any stuff from Platinum Games.

Yeah....in all fairness, it's not like Rooster Teeth is Studio Ghibli or IG where they can afford all the pretty animations....

I don't think we'll get season two until the summer/fall. I follow stuff on twitter and nothing's been said yet. We might get trailers soon maybe....if they go that route again.

I got the connection from the names of the 4 trailers which would show each panel of the 4-panel image of RWBY "come to life" at the end of each trailer. Since the trailers were named "Red," "White," "Black," and "Yellow" it was pretty easy to make the connection.

In the show, we are led to understand that RWBY stands for Ruby Weiss Blake Yang when Professor Ozpin announces the teams.

For those interested, this was episode 8, "Players and Pieces." Each team is made up of four members, and the team name is derived from the first letter of each team member's name. Three teams are mentioned during this episode: Team CRDL (made up of Cardin and his punk friends), Team JNPR ("Juniper," made up of Juane, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren), and Team RWBY ("Ruby," made up of Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang).

Somehow didn't even register the names of the other teams.

Jaune, not Juane. His name is French, not Spanish... ^_^

His name is a mix of "Joan of Arc" and Jaune, the french word for yellow, probably hinting at some of his cowardly tendencies and also continuing the color theme some of the main characters have

That's what I read about, but "Jaune" is usually pronounced with an emphasis on an "Oh" sound, like (J-oh-an), not an "Ahn" sound (J-Ah-n). When they say his name, I kept thinking that it was John in French.

I've found them though RWBY too. After watching them for a while now I think they're one of my favorite channels now. Their podcast like content (patch and the like) is very mature and doesn't celebrate stupidity like a lot of the mainstreem youtube.

Yes, and Yang is pronounced "yayng" instead of "yahng", and Weiss is pronounced "wice" instead of "vice". No France, Germany, or China in the world of Remnant, after all...
