Tea is one of those drinks that I'll drink and enjoy, but I wouldn't think to drink it on my own. I always sorta forget it exists.

Tea is alright, I don't drink it very often though, mainly because I can't be bothered making it when there's soft drink in the fridge

I'm not a big teadrinker. I'm more into coffee and its various derivatives.

I find tea a bit bland, but maybe I just haven't tasted the right kinds.

P.G Tips, you can't go wrong with that. I thinks its probably a British only brand though.

Anyway on a unrelated note, there I was casually browsing back through this thread and on page six I sore a picture that can make your eyes water, literally... it should probably get deleted, although I don't know why it hasn't already

I drink jasmine tea everyday. Occasionally I'll buy some chrysanthemum tea and enjoy the sweetness of it, but other than that, just standard green tea.

Other than that, I like to sample teas that I usually don't have a chance to try. Indian/British teas, Korean/Japanese teas, and other types of tea are very interesting.

I drink more tea than water. In fact, 99% of the fluid in my body probably comes from tea, mainly green or Oolong tea. Since I drink so much of it, I start to forget that it's tea or that I like tea (which I obviously do); it's just the stuff I pour down my throat when I'm thirsty

That said, I think I'm addicted to really expensive tea like maccha (matcha; powdered green tea) and tieguanyin (a type of Oolong tea from China). For black tea, Twinings or Whittards is the bare minimum. It's come to the point where I can hardly stomach the inferior tea selling for 100 times their cost in restaurants. Unsurprisingly, the restaurant is the only place where I'd drink anything other than tea.

So, there are extreme geographical differences in the popularity of tea, on a scale beyond my imagination . I've always known that tea is more popular in some places than others, but to think that "the fluid of life" in some countries is never drunk by some people in other countries (and considered "exotic" in yet others) is just incredible.

Also, don't you find it hilarious how some Americans tend to associate tea with either Victorian ladies sipping from expensive tea sets in a floral-patterned lounge, or Zen masters contemplating a Japanese scroll? Especially when tea is one of the most mundane things in your life...

It's because American's began to associate the tea party with British Imperialism waaaay back when and so instead began drinking other things as substitutes. Later we found out that there are continents in addition to Europe and America (some still are unaware) and we learned that green tea is popular in Asia. Thus green tea began growing in popularity (association with Zen master maybe just some weird stereotype because I've never heard/seen/thought of it?). Up till World War 2 green and black tea were, more or less, equally popular in America. With World War 2 green tea imports stopped (wonder why) and so we reverted back to regular iced tea. Recently though both real black teas (ie. not Lipton) and green teas have been making a comeback especially with our baby boomer generation. Or so I have read.
Anyway I enjoy the occasional cup especially darjeeling.

i love drinking tea. But the british should be ban form drinking tea. They add stuff like sugar and milk to it. That is sacrilege, Tea should be drink straight up with no Sugar or Milk or other additives.
