I think Kishimoto added Kakashi a mask, just because it looks cool.
This way he has the possibility to add some new storylines if he wants to.
That´s all.

sure it is man its same as asuma beard kurenais eyes and gai s hair...all of them are details of a char...no big deal...

But you have to admit that Kishimoto has managed to pull off areally good looking character without having to show his face. I mean, I can't really think of any other characters that looked that good with half their faces covered.

Well yeah, he wears the mask in the first place to cover the sharingan. So that pic is just photoshopped. People act like people's face are so special if they're covered by a mask

also its a common thing to a ninja to hide his face so it is a good referance to good old fashioned ninja characteristic...

They shouldn't reveal Kakashi's face, cause if they do, a lot of people wont be pleaced with his face, we all expect something awesome. It's better to let Kakashi's face to people imagination, in that way, everybody is happy.

I mean if there was anything special under Kakashi's mask I'd lose all respect for kishi.

his mask covers his nose/mouth not his eye... his forehead protector covers his eye

I think when he dies- which trust me, he will- his mask should fall out and out of respect naruto should put it back on and kill the person who will killed him.

If you ask me, his face shouldn't be revealed. It just would take away from Kakashi himself. One of the reasons he is cool is because people wanted to really know what Kakashi's face looked like.

The mask is Kakashi's "gangsta or cool" appeal. He's lost all his shady stealthy Kakashiness if he loses the mask. Though his general personality is amusing.
