She is much more sympathetic though, she shapes up on her own and is a legit victim

The match was skipped. Yaichi's next opponent is probably even stronger than Meijin.

She likes Yaichi and isn't the type to give up, so it's pretty in character to do what she did.

But yeah, in the end Ginko will win, so poor Ai (Ten-chan that is, nobody cares about blue Ai).
