Ugh. This episode felt like it was just a plot-exposition bridge between the last episode and the next.

Edit: It felt like one of those "Yugi-oh" moments, where there is 10 minutes of talk about one 10 second move. Except this episode was ALL talk, unless you count the Orland-bashing at the end, but even THAT was mostly just talk...

omg, they somehow managed to talk through the entire episode
and all of a sudden, orlend is COMPLETELY useless. I get it that he has inhibitions about shooting someone but he needs to be told when to dodge?
come on!
dialogue was mediocre to say the least and sometimes plain silly, corny and schmalzy.
plus, sometimes the faces looked rather strange...

but i can understand orlando...after getting spacked across thehead a few eps back that must have made him scared psychologically to any weapons that involves bashing the opponent to a bloody pulp...what that guy was saying as well didnt exactly help either >.<

Just when you think it's getting exciting, this episode just drags on and on and ooooonnnnnn instead. So it turned out rather boring after all. And it looks like the duel won't really fix anything either. But at least it should be interesting. Not surprisingly, the Marquis himself doesn't actually participate.

That should not have been a whole episode. It could have been condensed into 5 minutes and stuck on with the actual fight.

This is getting to be like a bad roller coaster-- good episode, bad episode, exciting episode, boring episode, dramatic episode, pointless episode.... anyone else getting a little sick?

I dunno. I thought all the episodes had their good points, and were intelligent (or lightheartedly not so! Pu pu pu pumpu-KEEN!), but this last episode seemed singularly devoid of action or sense. That sister act with the table-cloths, while the credulous peasants stood unsuspiciously by, and Orland acting like a blithering idiot, rather than the conflicted, but intelligent (and decisive in a crunch) person we've come to know, both REALLY got under my skin.

I think I went comatose a couple of times while watching this episode. I can live with dialogue, but it was so excruciatingly monotonous in this case and the piss-poor scene transitions didn't help either.

04/10 for this one.

Urgh.

Yep, totally agree with everyone else. There are times when it's fine to go at a snail's pace, but this is not one of them. That was just frustrating.

I had to give it 9 guys for one reason. The scene with Alice drawing the sword and lifting her dress up. Plus the sisters use a table cloth and Oland for wall. I was laughing my ass off especially because of the "big guys" expression and the repeating state of "shes wonderful" I had no clue Alice had that sword with her. Frankly I was surprised her sister conceeded and let her take it. Other than that it was pretty bland and Im pissed because Oland is acting like pus right now.

Next ep looks like the lantern is back in action

I'm surprised she was able to walk with that thing there

But it is supposed to be the symbol of the empire?

I agree with this one being poor. I don´t really dislike talking episodes before or after a fight, especially not if they´re done in a good way but this was just so poorly done.

And what is happening with Orland, he went from a guy being able to take on a tank to a scared coward who doesn´t know what to do at all in any situation. I can see why they want to make him like this, but the way they did it is, well, not good.

The Puppet and the Idol

I ask myself this question, how will GONZO manage to wrap-up for the conclusion when there is no visible direction to which the plot is heading towards?

There are only three episodes left and nothing is resolved regarding the role that the Silver Wheel influences the Empire, and for what bigger purpose Leonil is abiding to. The same goes for Dr. Kaupland, who has been collecting samples of her 900-series boys for an obscure agenda.

Instead this episode is much ado about nothing. I only listened to talk, duel, hide & seek, speeches, and conditions.

Jeez, Oland has hit rock bottom in the wusiness scale, cowering like a chicken against that Walter Dolneaz imitator, glasses man.

The only thing I got straight is that Conelly should be demoted and put into martial arrest for being a stupid bastard who is letting those half-assed nobles into sacrificial lambs for the mob so in that way his Claymore guys get an excuse to interfere, slaughter the mob on the basis that were conspirators for having spread the forbidden documents, and finally getting authorized his budget increase to gain more manforce and firepower into Section I.

I hate how slowly these episodes are moving along!
We're on episode 21/24 and, well... this ballroom fiasco is likely to carry all the way to the very end of the series. Lame.
