Nightwish - Dark Passion Play
Nightwish is my favourite band, and their new album was actually better than expected. The Poet and the Pendulum is one of their best songs, ever. So I consider this the best album of 2007. Dark Tranquillity - Fiction This album is a lot of kickass. I say it's one of their best albums. And also one of the best albums of 2007, kickassing in to the second place in my list. Others worth mentioning: Sonic Syndicate - Only Inhuman Soilwork - Sworn to a Great Divide Magnus Uggla - Pärlor åt Svinen |

So you're claiming to have a monopoly on good taste? If you ask me, In Rainbows sucks and is one of the most boring albums to come out all year. But I'm not being an ass about it and proclaiming that you have bad taste because you like it. I'm not saying it's wrong to state an opinion but you could at least be more constructive about it instead of just saying "wow your taste is crap".
And, presumably you haven't even heard the whole album (neither have I, mind you), which makes your judgement nothing more than an assumption (just as I only assume that you haven't heard it - sorry if I'm mistaken about that). Ah, yeah, since I'm posting in this thread anyway, might as well add another album which I hadn't listened to yet at the point of making my list: Kevin Drumm - Purge. An amazing record and his second best imo, right behind the godly "Sheer Hellish Miasma".

In Rainbows can be a very boring album sometimes, I agree. Some songs just don't hit all the way home, and when I was done with it, I said to myself, "How did that song get in there?" But some of the more boring, "polyphonic" songs on the record are filled with emotion, without having much emotion, such as 'All I Need', which I found to be one of the most powerful on the record. And I'm not arguing your overall point, I agree actually, despite making negative comments about Avril Lavigne's album, I just found that sentence very interesting. |

Yeah it doesn't really matter what anyone says is the best album of the year because it's all opinion anyways.
Unless of course it's a Nickelback album. Beirut - The Flying Club Cup has been owning me lately. |

I completely agree with Mueti. Don't be such an ass just because some people might have different tastes than yours. As cliche as it is, put yourself in their shoes and consider how it would feel to have an album/artist you like written off as having "crappy taste". I mean, how rude can you get?
