The longer hair rule applies in most manga, especially shonen. To an extent, an unofficial law of anime is that the longer/spikier and awesome someone's hair becomes, the more powerful they are. Meaning, as Negi's hair pretty much doubled(?) in length, so did his power level.
Takane does need to get stripped again. I have read about half of the Del Rey translation in the bookstore (didn't have enough money on hand to buy it). Looked well done, as most of their work tends to be. |

Hmm, looks like Negi combined the basic Jovius Thunder and Thousand Thunder? Then he tricked Rakan into being shadow binded by Kotaro and goaded Rakan into a test of might.
From someone elses comments he used complexio on Rakan's attack and then combined all three complexios to do that last punch (which we haven't seen the result of yet). Pretty clever of Negi if that's the case. The only thing that can serious injure Rakan is Rakan himself lol. |

god... another rule of samson?? did he really need to do the hair bit...
nice trick using rakan's power against himself. kotaro's regen is pretty ridiculos though if he can fully regen from having blades stuck throughout his body.

I can't wait to read this chapter. And I still think that Takane and Mister Kagetarou are related in a way or another Now I am even more convinced |

So, how many cards must you hold on your hand, to have five trump cards at once... A good chapter, but the "trump card" thing really got on my nerves, lolz.
And when he stopped Rakan attack, his spear got smaller? It dissipated into his fist or something? Last edited by Cinocard; 2009-04-07 at 23:26. |

In actuality there was only one trump card. The ENTIRE battle was a setup for Negi to do this one reversal on Rakan.
To make Rakan really get serious and fire off a truly powerful attack but at the same time making sure Rakan was doing that in a hurry so that he won't be able to deal with the counter in time. Everything from before, Negi never expected to work (on its own). |
