volume 21 ended after chapter 195... don't have 20 handy where I'm typing to see the start chapter.

Well the Magic World arc has bin nothing but enjoyable I can tell you that.

Fanservice, great battles, romance, plot twists everything.

Frankly, there was a lot of "eyecatch fanservice" and battles in volumes 20-21 but barely a scratch of anything else. I don't mind battles that move the story forward but I'm not really interested in battle for battle sake.... especially not "battle of the chapter but nothing changes" cycle.

Without giving too much away, *is* there plot advancement for the likes of me? Or has this become the "neverending story" ala certain other series I won't name?

You have an Izumi arc coming up in a few volumes. Not much else as far as relationships so far aside from throwaway, quick comments and of course the reunions.

Althought some people will just see it as another shounen cliche

There are some good battles, too, but that's not what Negima is about.

and what would you consider negima to be about then?

Some people do it for the fanservice

I just thought it's a typical shounen story that actually holds out and doesn't trail off the main point. And it has good pacing as well.

It's your typical shounen with a giant harem. Akamatsu was definitely going at something subtly different, IMO. Then again, he may be using Negima as an experiment. Who knows (besides Akamatsu himself)?

Oh, it has always been pretty clear to me he's looking for long-term steady income. If it sells, he'll do it.

The storyline does advance. The relationships... Hard to say. Those that do are those with side-characters. It does mean Negi's growing up, but, well, those are the relationships that'll go nowhere.

The Del Rey manga book releases are the ones that I'm reading of this series aswell as they're the only versions that are freely available to buy here in the UK from various bookstores

Lets talk about Negi´s possible mom... Well like many suspect that its Princess Arika of Vespertatia which would make Asuna Kagurazaka his Aunt.

Weird huh? so that would lower the chances for Asuna x Negi. I wonder if Rakan is going too tell Negi everything in chapter 250, because chapter 250 is totally unpredictable since the Magic World (slave arc) is ended at chapter 249, which well yeah opens alot of options on whats going too happen.

I have tis weird feeling that princes Arika is long dead maybe even since he end of the war . After all Rakan did say that on that day Nagi saved the world but could not save one girl... and all other named women who were there a the time are still alive.

That is an interesting thing too talk about since, her so called energic personality was perhaps the complete opposite of her real one. Also will she be evil or good?

That does raise some questions, because he did say he wasent able too save one girl, which is Arika or Asuna? god knows, but Im curious but still hope that its Asuna because I dont want Arika too die.
