Simply put, if the Host Club was a real place that you could go to, say it was at your school and had all of the original hosts, would you go there? Or possibly, would you want different hosts, similar to the style of the original host club but with different people? Or maybe even interacting with the original hosts, but through a different medium?

You get the idea, what do you think?

I can occasionally tell them apart by their voices, but otherwise I have no idea. I know they each part their hair different ways, but I don't know which is which.

the one who comps his hair to the right is hikaru and the other 1 is kaoru

I'm kind of confused to why people can never tell which one is which for the twins... I learn it straight away from the first episode. And I can even tell when they're pretending to be the other one (le gasp).

Zestelne-chan's ways of telling which is which:

1. Hair.
The one who's main parting points to the right (as in the character's right, not ours) is Kaoru. The one who's main parting points to the left (as in the character's left, not ours) is Hikaru.

2. Voice.
Kaoru has a softer, more relaxed voice. For comparision - his seiyu is the same as Justin Law in Soul Eater.
Hikaru has a harsher more sarcastic sounding voice. (Can't remember who else he voice acts right now).

3. Personality.
In the "brotherly love" scenes for the host club, Hikaru is always the one who seems to protect/"come onto" his twin. The more suggestive one in this situation.
Kaoru however is usually the one who a. hurts himself, or b. is slightly sad etc.

Otherwise; Hikaru is much more sarcastic, naive, and devilish - while Kaoru is sweet, secretly analytical and intelligent, and mostly less harsh.

4. Positioning.
Hikaru is usually on the left *character's left* and Kaoru on the right *character's right*.

5. Clothes.
Mostly, Kaoru wears lighter coloured clothing to his brother. While Hikaru wears darker heavier clothes.
(Though don't trust this one too much. It's just a small observation of mine).

I'm going to be coinciding watching the anime on DVD with reading the manga series aswell

I'll be getting the best of both worlds that way, and I really can't wait

I may say that Ouran is one of the best shojou out there.
When my friends recommend it i didn't expect it to be this hilarious.
It's funny in a sense that the flow of the story still dwells and the plot is still very interesting, these are some of the things that most comical anime are missing.

Holy crap I can't believe this. I figured out what Hikaru and Kaoru's names mean! They're a reference to Castor and Pollux in Greek Mythology!

Compare:

Hikaru means "shining"
Kaoru means "sweet smelling"

Castor means "shining"
Pollux means "very sweet"

That can't be a coincidence.

I just bought the first volume of the manga because I liked the anime so much. I've never read any manga so this will be a new experience for me
