I thought they weren't allowed to call people master anymore because of that.

Not that, but they redid the opening of He is My Master by removing the chains in one shot.

I'm sure the food is probably one of the last things you would think about if you're going to a Maid cafe but.....is the food even worth spending money just to eat and check out some girls in maids outfits? If not I hope the deserts are at least tasty because then you'd be able to enjoy a nice desert along with a nice view. ^_^

I also heard there were times when the maids would play little innocent games with you, are those fun?

Huh? A maid cafe in Canada? (and with Asian girls!)

Since when is the otaku fandom so big around the West? (and so known in commercial circles?)

EDIT: Someone needs to spank the website designer.

This is actually making me happy since I live in Toronto myself. I'll probably visit this place for curiosity.

Should I take pictures of this place?

That's great. I rather get served by a pretty girl from Starbucks, or Hooters. Something like that

Seriously, Vancouver and Toronto are probably the biggest areas that Asians live in Canada. Toronto has the biggest Asian mall in all of North America(so I heard). That mall has atleast a couple of shops dedicated to sell cosplay costumes there too.

Needs a finer list of hot coffee.

Its too bad their prices are a little pricey even for an asian(Super Robot Wars models = $60CAD while HK offers them for $25CAD).

Its cool but yea, surprisingly there are none of these "Maid cafes" @ Pacificmall, they'd probably make a pretty good profit at that location.

Strangely, whenever the food was very good at any place, I turned out to be served by men >.<

unlike most people i have never been to a resturant where there are cute waitresses all dressed up in maid outfits (and i mean proper ones) ...its probably one of those events of a life time in that only one experience is enough which i still need to experience

Last year, one of the butler cafe was doing a demonstration in street of Akihabara, where several butlers were fighting each other in martial arts.
It looks kinda cool.

Anyways, I actually prefer the american Hooters over maid cafes.
Maids are nice and all, but old pervs like me like to look at more revealing cleavages and legs sticking out of short hotpants.

Maid cafes have been around for years in Japan (at least ever since cafe owners figured out otaku have money). They're kind of silly, to be honest, and I'd be a bit surprised if they caught on in North America outside of a few areas. They remind me of that Disney 50's home cooking restaurant where you're served by "Mom" (older lady dressed period style) who cajoles you if you don't clean your plate or use your napkin and compliments you on your manners. Not really sexy.. just quaint (let me pour that, bozo-sama!)

I think it'd be cuter and stay more novel if they dressed as various anime characters... but then that would be a higher operational cost. Unfortunately, you're in a cafe with a bunch of people of the type you try to avoid at a gaming store pretending not to stare at the girls ---- bleh, eh?

Hooters.... .is just lame and unimaginative. They're trying to portray themselves as a "bring the family" place now with wholesome girls who have shorts so tight they get chafe burns. wheeee... not. I get better results (and better food) just hanging out at an outdoor cafe people-watching.
