That cliffhanger... Now I have to wait for next week.
It wasn't too interesting waiting for them to find out the obvious but it was still a decent episode. Also this was not exactly how I imagined the Cantus user, he looks scary... Reminds me of something out of a horror game... Corpse Party. Edit: I realized I slipped and voted like a 6 on the poll. I meant to pick 8/9. fml.

Yeah, it was kinda grating for the hospital staff NOT to say who was the culprit, beating around the bush instead of just saying "it's a fiend". I'd imagine that he was brought up thinking he was a queerat, given that scream when he saw the other queerats dead in the hallway. That cliffhanger is brutal too =0(.

Incredibly intense. All the slow buildup is really paying off & the wait this week will be excruciating.
Not sure how they can get away either .. but I suppose 100 feet separation means they can do something clever with cantus & water to divert attention and slip into the trees perhaps. |

Oh god, playing up my fear of abandoned hospitals…
Agreed that it was grating for the hostages to not outright say who the culprit was -- seriously, wouldn't that be the first thing you spit out? But if it was accurate to the book, that sort of thing does play out better in creating suspense textually. I'm guessing the screaming and appearance are from being raised without the ability to control cantus. More than the episode cliffhanger, I'm concerned with the way Tomiko sounds in the preview... hoping it's not a death flag, but with everything that happened this episode, it's difficult to hold any hope for much of the cast to survive. Between this show and Psycho-Pass, really can't wait for next week. |

I kept thinking "Poor Communication Kills" when he wouldn't just say "It's a Fiend you fools!"
Not that it would have changed anything but still. Incidentally, can you only target Cantus visually? There's a death feedback for if you kill another human but what if you decide to just blast "whatever is behind this door" at full force without looking? |

I don't think the director was trying to "beat around the bush". What he was trying to do was convey the sense of horror and helplessness that doctor was going through to a point where even speaking of it was too much to handle.
This show has a way of making my skin crawl like no other anime . Its like there is always something evil lurking in the background... |

Queerats vs humans.
Yakomaru must be behind some of it. He was suspicious right from the start. Well, their rebellion is not a surprise. It was bound to happen sometime. That demon was kinda surprising though. Especially since they always killed all potential demons.

Oooo cliffhanger~ Very nice and intense episode, though wow, it was dark, literally.

I do wonder why they didn't show how Satoru was steering the boat and how he noticed the other boat following them... it was a bit out of the blue. (Or maybe they did show it, and I just didn't realize because it was too dark?) As long as you don't realize that you might be attacking another human you should be OK, but if there's any doubt... And of course you're pretty much a goner when you realize that you have killed another human. Last edited by kuromitsu; 2013-02-09 at 07:53. |
