Every single "A" paper I produced in highschool and college was done less than 24 hours before it was due ... back when the primary tool was a *typewriter*. I do not recommend this as a technique however as I'm sure it knocked about 10 years off my lifespan. Ah, the terrors of being non-hyper ADD ...
on topic: I finally got to see the subbed version of the trailer ... this puppy is going to be forced viewing at my house.

5 Centimeters Per Second Preview
http://a.scarywater.net/triad/ i did a search here "5cm preview" but the forum software seems to neglect the "5cm" part and searched for "preview" which turns up millions of useless crap..... so much for a search anyways... i just wanna say how amazing the animation is!!! i can't wait til it's out... the animation is extremely similar to "Beyond the Clouds" |

Yow....
The previews I've seen have been nothing less than stunning.
I'm literally showing anyone who walks by the animation - the perspective, the movement, the lighting effects, everything is absolutely first rate in so many ways. The winter light in the snowfall scenes, the way railroad centralized traffic control lights look in the distance at night, the shot with the classroom where the flourescent lights all turned on at different rates due to ballast issues and each one that pops on changes the entire color pallette slightly, just stunning. I can't wait to see the finished stories,

When I watched the trailer, I felt my spine tingle and goosebumps popping out of nowhere: the trailer was just so amazing and so touching that even if I didn't understand the words that were said ... I realized that true beauty transcends even language.

You guys are really brave aren't you? Either that or the epitome of ignorance. No sane knowledgeable encoder alive would do something as stupid like picking a fight against a ZX encoder. From what I remember only one group released h264 for Shana while it aired. They actually released an xvid version together with your "hideous" h264... So first of all, did you actually compare the h264 against the xvid from same group? If you didn't then you are forgetting the factor "sucky raw", ANY codec will produce something "lesser good" if the source is "irrecoverably lesser good" (bad raws are of course the encoders responsibility, but you should also remember that their group pretty much released their encodes only few hours after it aired, so naturally their raw selection would be limited). So I'll have to laugh at your noobness if you didn't. Headless bashing and Blaming The Wrong Things™ FTW! If you actually DID compare, then I'd like your explanation and ask you Why didn't you just get their xvid instead? Oh and, I'm also looking forward to this movie. EDIT: I uploaded the original 2nd preview here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bndfdzwijym For those who prefer it over the reencoded ones for whatever reason. 68 MB crc:F74CA429 1st teaser is linked to here(the one marked 8M(1280×720) at 24MB) Last edited by Arimfe; 2006-12-31 at 21:34. |

No, I didn't compare them because I couldn't find the XviD versions. I suppose bad raw quality could have been a factor, but then, I guess that's why it helps to let a day go by before choosing a raw.
I don't usually respond to flaming, but this is a unique case. |

Guess what, as a downloader it also helps to wait for the better quality if you want heightened chance of better raws being utilized. edit: Just so people won't misunderstand, this is mostly valid for TV sources, for DVD sources etc. waiting will in all likeliness not help anything (and of course even DVD sources can be bad). You know, with the way people were talking about the art in this show, I thought I would go blind or something from seeing the screenshots. You know, 'God's Grace' or something.
"Ah! It's too perfect! Me mortal eyes cannot comprehend it!" So I guess I was kinda... underwhelmed when I finally got around to seeing it? It disturbed me really, and I was going to be prepared for heckling when I wanted to express my disappointment in this thread. Regardless, my disappointment turned into understanding when I actually got to see the trailer. This is not something you can capture in stills, folks. It has to be seen in motion to be fully appreciated. Still... I am kind of more mesmerised by the BGM than the pictures. Cheers.

It's the piano piece from the first teaser. Too nice and too short ><;; Didn't do too much evil to it, cut the first 3.499 secs of nothing, altered the volume to its full dynamic range, put it into an aoTuVb5 vorbis at original source bitrate. |
