Fate/Zero - Generic Discussion Thread

Bummed again that they didn't get Kate Higgins back to voice Saber (she did a great job with that role). Overall some voices I'm really behind, like Crispin freeman as Kirei, while others jsut don't seem to capture the character right, like Rider's voice actor.

Then again this could just be a similar situation to other times I've disliked the voices in a trailer and then greatly adoring them once I hear them in the actual show. For example the trailer for Spice and Wolf. I didn't find the vocies in that trailer very fitting, but then when i watched the show it seemed like the quality of the deliveries were much better and I actually ended up prefering to watch the english dub more than the sub, but of course I tend to watch english dubs if I can as long as they're "good enough" so that could just be me.

Since this was debated a lot before, I think this answer directly from Urobuchi himself might shed some light regarding a certain matter.

Spoiler for Regarding Sakura's fate and her parents:

Urobuchi has personally confirmed that Aoi and Tokiomi didn't know what Sakura has endured with the Matou's household, and even with Tokiomi's pragmatic view regarding magi family and whatnot, he "probably" wouldn't expect that.

Also, I think that was generally assumed to be the case by most people, because no-one who has watched Zero or read the light novel could believe that Tokiomi would be that callous, at least towards his own daughters. The main argument made by the people who don't like him is that he really should have thought of it, or at least put some mechanism in place to ensure she wouldn't be ill-treated. Because Kotomine certainly knew what Zouken was like, and all of Kotomine's information on Zouken aside from what he saw with his own eyes came directly from Tokiomi.

No-one really believes that Tokiomi didn't want what he felt was best for Sakura, but it's pretty clear that he didn't really put enough effort into checking what Zouken would do. He just said "here you go" and then washed his hands of her, and the impression I get is that he deliberately avoided thinking too hard about it because he didn't see any alternative and he felt a lot better if he could tell himself that his beloved younger daughter was OK. And, ditto Aoi.

Saber is too. She was turned on by what Rin was doing. She thinks Irisviel is lovely, was married to a woman and had a son with her half sister

Every girl in Nasuverse, except maybe Bazett (although there is some Type ace Comic that pairs her with Medusa), is bisexual.

Eh, that state is a bit tongue in cheek. Arturia had no physical desires at all at that point, and only married for appearances. This is why Guinevere was so quick to fall for Lancelot, and why Arturia did not punish either of them.

As for having a son with her sister, there was no sex involved at all. Merlin had played a prank on her and given her male parts, which Morgan le Fay then used to extract... royal specimen, which she then combined with her own to create the homunculus of Mordred.

No, Saber isn't lesbian, but she is arguably bisexual. She's less so than either Rin or Rider, though.

The developer Pocke has released a visual novel adaptation of the novel/anime series Fate/Zero for iOS and Android devices.



Titled Fate/Zero: The Adventure, the app will contain fully voiced scenes, original illustrations by the studio ufotable, and original scenarios in addition to routes from both the anime and the novels by Gen Urobuchi (the scriptwriter of Madoka Magica, also known as “Urobutcher”).



The story is a prequel to Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night, depicting the Fourth Holy Grail War in which seven mages and seven Heroic Spirits fight to obtain the power of the Holy Grail. The protagonist is Kiritsugu Emiya, a notorious magus killer who has abandoned his hopes of becoming a hero and saving humanity.



Fate/Zero: The Adventure is available for 3,000 yen.
