(L) History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi (Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi)

Very good series. A breath of fresh air from the typical shounen shows. Takes a big hit though animation-wise, which is the reason why I knocked the series grade down a notch.

@masj: i believe the manga is now around volume 26; and i think that episode 50 ended it at like volume 16 or 17 (someone should confirm this though)

Just finished 50, am both depressed and happy at the same time, that hasn't happened since FMP:TSR.

Good series and while it didn't have everything I'd like the enjoyment factor easily made it a 10/10. My only hope is that there is a season 2 sometime later.

No, he didn't say over 9000. I believe he said "they have truly peaked". The 9000 line was a humorous reference to DragonBall Z, where they assign actual numeric values to power levels.

About the ending...

I wish that there was more wrap up. Everything seemed to end too suddenly and dramatically. I was hoping to see a little bit of a relationship develop between Kenichi and Miu, and to see the aftermath of Ragnarok's downfall. There are still many, many, many unanswered questions from this season so hopefully there will be another.

Episode 50 covered the last 3 chapters of volume 16. There are currently 26 volumes in print, and another 3 or so volumes' worth of chapters have been published in Shonen Sunday.

It finished more or less just like the manga volume 16 did. As what happened to Ragnarok - it's dispersed. Loki and Berserker haven't been heard from again, Odin only resurfaces in volume 25, the remaining Fists are more or less absorbed into Shimpaku Rengou. Tsuji (Mophead) also resurfaces after a mountain retreat and training, vying for a return match with Kenichi.

this series was greater than the sum of its parts, if you describe it to someone it doesn't sound too great or special, but it had a certain charm about it. I give it a 8.7/10

ep 50 is up to ch 143 which is also the last chapter in vol 16.there is about 26 vol out right now with 258 chapters, the next chap, 259 is going to out in a few days with the chap summaries already out on 2chan.

It just means that no further episodes are planned for the anime at this time. There's still a possibility that they could decide to make more depending if they have enough of the manga material to go on. I still believe there going to continue. I just can't accept this sort of ending. Kenichi and miu still needs to hook up and Kenichi hasn't yet won Odin completely over. I would love to actually see Kenichi becoming the strongest disciple. As of yet he has a long way to go.

The other gun is known as Ludwig. He brought it with him to Ryouzanpaku.

That's Yami (Darkness), the name of the international organization of martial artists that Kensei/Ogata belongs to. The organization consisting of Yami's disciples, YOMI, is who Kenichi is going to face in the next arc.
