Well, one thing I think needs to be interjected, Rock Lee doesn't really have a 'unique' style.
I imagine any sort of style is taught at a school for that sort of thing. It's not as if Rock Lee invented the style that he uses, since Kakashi taught some of it to Sasuke (Sasuke couldn't have gotten enough of the taijutsu from Rock Lee by sharingan to do more then imitate a couple moves... Sasuke knows the taijutsu because Kakashi emphasized more of what Sasuke already copied, I believe. So in theory, it may be possible that Itachi... or someone else for the matter could have just henge'd and used what Taijutsu he already knows. |

I still think it is really Lee and either the operation went bad and he has just few hours of life or it went well and he sneaked out without attending Rehabilitation at all to help his friends sacrificing himself in turn. |

I doubt its anybody disguised as lee. The villans are badass so hidding themselves would be demeaning. Plus they'd have to heavily study lee in order to get all his manurisms right. Its probably not gai either. Remember gai isn't too good at nin and gen jutsu, that's why, like lee, he is a taijutsu specialist. So I doubt he could hold a henge for very long.

Actually, we don't know... Only time I've seen him use anything of the kind was when he blocked the Genjutsu at the Chuunin Arena, then again, I haven't seen Asuma use any either and I know he's able to do it (no reason he shouldn't be)

I don't know why people think someone used Henge to look like Lee. I mean, why would someone do that? It's Lee there, all by himself. Or at least it wouldn't make any sense if it wasn't Lee himself.
Lee may have recovered- but not fully- from the surgery. So he came back to kick some ass! I just think it'll be really stupid if he open the 5 Celestial Gates again. He just underwent a surgery to recover from opening the 5 Gates before, if he does it again; there goes the surgery, and Tsunade should punch him to death |

I dont think he's going to go as far as opening 5 gates again, not unless this fight gets really messy. He may open the fight one (to do the Omote Renge), and maybe the second if he needs to move again after that, otherwise, I dont think he's going to do anything silly. Also, whoever said Gai cant do ninjutsu, you're wrong. He summonned a tutrle just before the start of the chunin exam, and if Gai couldnt do gen/ninjutsu, dont you think Lee would have a little more confidence in becoming a respectable ninja? Also, I doubt if Gai couldnt do gen or ninjutsu that he'd be able to fight on an even level with Kakashi. |

And I think it would be pretty lame if he opened the 5 Celestial Gates again, by the reasons I stated in my previous post. |

Also, he can only open 5 gates, so he wont be opening 8 gates now, especially seeing as he hasnt exactly had any time to be training or anything. |

I did a bit of searching on the web to see what I can dig up about the whole bone fragment stuff that people talk about.
"About nine months after Trisha injured herself, an orthopedic surgeon performed a relatively simple procedure called a discectomy, in which a fragment of the ruptured disk is removed." Now true this talks about ruptured disk, and I don't know how close this parallels the situation at hand, but it seems that todays doctors consider removing bits of ruptured disk from the spinal column a relatively simply procedure. If we assume that Naruto's world operates almost alike ours, except with the addition of "super powers" then the symptoms for the ruptured disk are similar to was Rock Lee was dealing with "The person may experience the following symptoms: · decreased ability to flex the knee · decreased ability to move the foot and toes in certain directions · numbness, burning, or tingling in the leg · pain in the lower back that may travel to the back of the thigh and calf " Now, it seems to me that the problem occurs not in the actual surgery by the amount of time it needs to heal after the surgery is perfomed. Obviously this analysis is for the modern doctor, but I would think Tsunade was a capable doctor. The pain that was caused by the ruptured disk goes away after the operation. Obviously this is assuming that the condition Rock Lee is(was) in is similar condition, but this is as close as I could come with my search for "problems with opening celestial gates". Anyhow, I know that it was said that Rock Lee would need time to rest afterwords, but maybe Tsunade was just saying a person who would get this operation usually required a long time to rest. Yet, Rock Lee is a special person, kinda like Naruto still having chakra after Neji's attack, he is able to heal and go out to fight through the sheer force of will. just my 2 cents |
