Edoras has/had magic, however it is running out. Question is why is Edoras running out of magic.

I was wondering about that when they explained that they were running out of magic. But they need magic weapons and stuff to produce magic don't they? (I read way way to many manga's to keep every detail in my head, so i forget some things) And another thing, how does he know how much magic(al power) he will get from Dragon Slayers? They never did say if he did or didn't come in contact with one before.

I agree with that dragon slayer theory.

I know Urtear said that Zeref was sleeping, but is there any chance that the black dragon that severed Gildartz's limbs and was "pure evil" was Zeref?

I don't know. I think that for now, he is still unable to do anything. Though I wouldn't put it beyond Zeref to be able to control people's minds or something. That being said, a dragon is a dragon after all, the strongest magical creature that exists so far in FT. It wouldn't be easy for Zeref to be able to take control of a dragon. I think the one Gildartz encountered was just a wild dragon, but we'll definitely find out more about it later, conceivably right after this arc as Natsu was just about to go looking for it before all this anima stuff happened .

The mind control is interesting, but for some reason I'd prefer some sort of 'yami' magic of some sort(kinda like Nirvana, or if he was the origin of Nirvana itself that'd be interesting too.

Zeref reminds me of that legendary giant dragon in Hiro's side project Monster Hunter Orage...that was a pretty good series, cliche as it was.

Well, magic is limited in their world so it's natural that they would eventually run out. Think of it like fossil fuels today (although they won't run out for quite some time yet). Well, his son did go to earthland, so it's very possible for the king to have learned the extent of magical power that dragon slayers possess.

Yeah, it was classic shonen cliche stuff, but it was still good! Mashima still loves Rave, naming the girl Irie. Can't keep RM too far
I think the artwork is the same quality as FT.

Pretty interesting chapter. Starts off with Grey and his group downed. They pretty much are battling the soldiers of the king and are using their respective skills to fend them off. Back with the E. Erza vs Erza, it pretty much is a back and forth brawl until E. Erza gets a small advantage over Erza. It turns out that Erza has more skills on her as she can fight with swords on her feet. Back to Natsu and his group, it turns out that the King has gain the upper hand with his powered up white eyes black metal dragon. It looks like Nastu's group has their work cut out for them. Back to Grey's group, the soldiers numbers have overwhelmed Grey and co., with Charlie of all creatures doing something selfless by taking a hit meant for Happy. We also get to see a panel shot of Lucy's butt to boot during the overwhelming. E. Fairy Tail finally make their pressence known at the end, with the counter attack commencing.

Well, that didn't surprise anyone at all. For a manga that has dozens of pages filled with people screaming NAKAMA, it'd go against pretty much the theme of FT if the Edo Fairy tail didn't show up and provide help.

I'm disappointed Loke + Grey could only do so much... they didn't even get a chapter of their own. Just three pages or so then they're all down. Compared them to Erza who got like 4 pages and is still fighting by the end of this chapter! I demand that Loke and Grey should get fair treatment!

On another note, great to see Edora Fairy Tail show up. I can't wait to see their interaction with Earthland mages. BTW, since Edora Lucy isn't a Stellar Mage (is she one?) then we shouldn't be seeing Loke double in Edora right?

Edora Natsu trembling in the last page is just hilarious. I think Earthland Natsu would be so ashamed of him if he knew.
