This is definitely a nice change from the complete seriousness we have with most of the other series. Some of the gags are hit and miss, but they're good enough for me.

It also seems to like toying with some common tropes (the serious save-someone-from-an-incoming-car scene, mahou shoujo) and just having completely outrageous things (crayfish monster was definitely funny).

I didn't like the "because I'm a zombie" punchlines, but the lobster and mahou shoujo transformation were pretty funny.

I thought this first episode was hilarious. Definitely a show you shouldn't take too seriously – if at all.

Definitely a bit of a switch from the serious shows surrounding it. Though certainly some serious parts with the male character having been murdered and staying as a zombie for the purpose of finding the person who killed him and getting I presume revenge.

But wow some odd moments in the episode. That's some crazy mahou shoujo actually chopping through someone with a magical chainsaw to defeat an opponent

. Was also kind of funny to see the guy using 100 and 120% power, but his body unable to withstand it. Hopefully he learns that mind erasing magic or he's screwed.

Odd necromancer, but love the imagined scenes from the guy. Well if your going to be hanging with someone that silent might as well make up what the words mean

Yuu-chan has got one of those fanless fan. Ooooh.

Loving the humor. Easily the most enjoyable anime I'm watching this season. Now just to await Sera's entrance and... *splat*

Thanks. I was wondering what that was.
The characters in this kinda remind me of Disgaea, in that I get the feeling the creators of both just threw random stuff together and called it a character, and then took those characters and created a show. Maybe it's just because of vampire ninjas.

The jokes need more impact! I think that Ayumu's voice actor needs to be more energenic when doing joke punchlines, but then again he IS a zombie. Haruna was great though.

Good first ep though, I like the character designs.

Elizabeth?! Best anime of the season, hands down.

This first episode was tons of fun. I do agree the directing/presentation was a bit lackluster, but it was still insanely entertaining nonetheless, which is already more than you can say for most anime this season. Most of the jokes worked on me. Ayumu's transformation sequence was the most hilarious thing I've seen this year, especially thanks to his moans

Need some avatars of Yuu, I thought she was really cute. I hope we get some backstory though on why he became a zombie, obviously he was killed by the serial killer but why would a necromancer bring him back to life. Unless she just wanted a place to stay and someone to cook her meals.

That's a good question on why he wanted to be a zombie in order to find this serial killer that I think is still around in the anime killing even more people. Also a good thing to know on why would a necromancer go out of her way just to resurrect him as a zombie. But it was funny that his reputation easily got ruined because he had to transform into a magical girl in order to stop a pedophile lobster... Would be interesting to see what happens next and how he will have to deal with it.

That was the hardest I've laughed during an anime in a while.

I kept wondering what that blue ring thing was. Was it some sort of future plot critical item? A magical portal? Nope, it was a dyson air multiplier (a fancy fan). Which is kind of a cool gadget... but lolproductplacement.

Apparently our male lead thought it would make a nice room decoration and decided to buy it

or that's how our necromancer friend came about. Could mean many things, or its just there to look pretty

Horror and comedy, when done right, blend perfectly, and that blended wonderfully. It's in the same mold as Akikan or Inukami - shows that have no pretense of anything resembling reality, and I respect them for that. The running gag about "That's not a kick!" was great, and Ayumu has equal amounts of both goodness and dudeness. What a pleasant way to start off.

If nothing else, that opening is definitely my favorite of the season so far. Like Midonin said, the whole show is silly, but it knows that it's silly and it revels in it. It's got some serious bits too, like the whole looking for the mystery serial killer, but still mixes in well with the comedy - I find the little touches, like Ayumu grabbing his ass and saying there's things worse than death, or that he doesn't want to play Resident Evil really funny. I like the characters too, finally we got a protagonist with a (even more durable than normal) spine, the best friend is not too annoying, the girls are cute but not instantly in love with the protagonist so that's kind of refreshing. They're really cool too; one is a loli DFC Masou shoujou (what masou really means anyway?) that wields chainsaw, and one is a necromancer (that's rare, especially for a harem) with a really cool name, Eucliwood Hellscythe (gender neutral too, I'm definitely using it for my next fantasy game). Oh, and there's fanservice too, and they're equal - sure, we got to see Haruna naked (kinda reminds me of Index) and her pantyshot, but we got that from Ayumu, too. . So yeah, I'm eagerly waiting for the next episode. Oh, and before I forgot and it's too late, claiming that black-haired ninja girl. I hope her personality isn't going to be bad... __________________
