I'll wait until after I've watched 11 to judge the Asami plot twist. However I have a feeling it may be the type of plot twist that works better on a re-watch where having advanced information makes things more noticeable than before.
In any case plot twists are a tricky beast in terms of balance. Don't drop enough hints and people will gripe it came out of nowhere. Drop too many and some will rant about how they saw it coming a mile way. Then there is the problem of once you reveal certain plot twists there's no turning back which often causes the writers to be so hesitant that the plot twist is in a sense revealed too late. Spoiler:

Holy freaking Sh** that is unbelievable. I pride myself at being able to pick up on things like this, did not see this coming. Not one bit. It has to make you wonder what they are going to do for the final. How the hell is sana gonna up this?

Exactally...you've gotta hand it to this series for some of the most emotional ends ever (again its down to the music )...even during scenes with Hinako (supporting character role), I find myself feeling over the moon (who can't forget about that "peck" on the cheek ^^).

You know you did kind of blurt out a lot of possibilities. It would have been more funny/prophetic if you wrote a single one and it turned out to be true. Nonetheless, this plot twist isn't up to par with Euphie plot twist in Code Geass. That one had plenty of lead up.

Spoiler for ep11 and game profiles:
Yeah, but the ones that came true were the ones I never really believed in or meant.

Wow... I'm stunned...
Didn't see that one coming... even after reading the character profiles. That being said, her affections for Shuri would explain mainly traits in her character profile: Spoiler for Asami's game profile:
*** Back to the episode: With the end of ep.11, it doesn't seem as if any of the problems have ended. Shuu & Shuri have eloped, leaving the mess behind, but without solving the problem in their family. Asami's in a wreck, having (probably) confessed to Shuri about her deeds and her motivation. Now if she 'rebounds' on Sana, things will really get messy... (considering how Nanaka seems to walk-in at the wrong time all the time) Next episode will probably be about Nanaka's past.... Then there's Sana's past, which should be even more intense than the Shuu/Shuri/Asami drama. (Assuming that the directors saved the best for last) *** Just how the heck are they going to wrap this up? Is M:Y going to be 2-cour? |
