Aaaaah mark VN spoilers and episode spoilers differently plz I just read something I didn't want to read. D:
... anyway just caught up on this and I gotta say I'm loving it. Not the kind to engage in speculation so I'll just wait to see how it plays out, but I'm enjoying the character interactions the most out of anything else I'm watching this season.

Like I said, I assumed it was a spoiler for the anime episode, which I'd seen already, not the VN. This is the thread for the anime, after all. Everyone in previous posts had been using spoiler tags to discuss episode 5, so I wasn't expecting something from the VN.

Loved the episode.
For whatever reason, this was the week this series all came together for me. I don't know anything about the VN (aside from that thoughtless spoiler above) but I was getting a little frustrated with the refusal to tell the audience anything of use. The revelations this week were just right - there's still a lot of mystery, but things are starting to make sense. We don't know the result but at least we know the game we're playing. I've always loved the characters, and they continue to be a strength. I'm even starting to find Mayuri's "Do do dooot!" thing increasingly adorable.

Just finished episode 4 last night. Probably my least favourite out of all the episodes so far, but still good overall. I still don't really care for the way Okarin treats Kurisu and his over the top loudness is starting to become a little grating again, but it looks like we might be getting through this phase of his where he borderline treats her like crap for all that she is trying to do to help him get to the bottom of matters. Also the scene with the cat-girl idol was just plain weird and her whole character feels kind of out of place in a story like this. I thought for a second though they were going to play some sort of card-game and was all like, "Cool, I love card games!" but then they didn't show it and instead opted for more of Okarin's antics and I was just a touch disappointed that they didn't.
Anyway at least stuff was still accomplished this episode as it has been in every episode. Kurisu is solidly in the group now to try to figure this all out and they have the IBM 5100 so I assume things will start picking up pretty quickly next episode. |

I gotta admit, this show handles moe and other fan pandering elements extremely well (ie. they're not interfering with the narrative.) It just works.
I could spam this thread about me being a Yukarin fanboy, but this episode was decent as usual. The dialogue about them screwing around is getting tiring at points, but it still makes me laugh at them. And they're finally getting along with the plot. Omg, jelly people. >.> The fact that this organization would run experiments like this greatly disturbs me and extremely fearful of our heros' safety. And Kurisu, yea, just Kurisu is great. I wonder what's the deal with her and her father.

Does anyone want to test whether if you put your cellphone in the microwave this will happen?
