Hosaka looks better in ss2, especially in the episode where they are all out in the cold picking up trash. Actually, he's already look awesome in season 1. I like his muscular, bishi design in ss2 just a tag more than in ss1 but that's all since ss2 doesn't have enough of Hosaka's imagination, which suck.

Do people think Hosaka is a genius or an idiot? Maybe both? I think he somewhat fits the image of the Prodigy/Artist who possess great talent (exhibited in Hosaka's case in his learning how to cook professionally, in many cuisines, in such a short amount of time) but are deficient in other areas.
Hosaka is hilariously deficient in interpersonal skills, taking an overly theoretical approach to friendships, relationships, etc. I wouldn't say he is impulsive-compulsive, for the reason that he takes a great deal of time planning his activities and rationalizing his actions. He is also a perfectionist. Like some other great artist/prodigies, his energy and talent is singularly devoted to his passion, which happens to be the pursuit of Haruka Minami. But because he is a perfectionist, because every detail and aspect of this pursuit must be done perfectly, he never arrives at the fruition of his goal... at least not yet. One wonders what would happen to Hosaka if he ever did: If he finally manages to talk with Haruka and she agreed to become friends with him. Perhaps he would be at a loss, perhaps he would then turn his efforts towards fulfilling the life script in his mind: A perfect family with two daughters who suspiciously resemble Kana and Chikai, which if you think about it is frightening, because Hosaka has never met these two, so he apparently has the power of foresight as well. I'm totally flouting Chiaki's message about not taking this show too seriously. Episode 2 can't come sooner.

Please, somebody call a plastic surgeon! Where are my cute girls? Seriously, who are these people? That's exactly what I'm thinking while watching, who are they?
I met a girl just like this, the most wonderful personality, just a delight to talk with, wonderful voice, sexy body, but.... the face of a horse. There was no way to get past it. I really want to keep watching this anime, but I can't get past it. Moar cute! Less war on cute! |

We don't need baka "Mako-chan"...he's Chiaki's egg ("Boil me, Minami!")
Spoiler for Large Makoto:
We need Mako-chan...she is Kana's project in social engineering. Spoiler for Large Mako-chans:
