Felt like we went a bit backwards with Sorata's character with regards to his experiences in the previous couple of episodes since he lashed out the first time. Gives the impression to me that he thinks hes entitled to pass even though he was super modest when working on the game. It just seemed quite jarring to me and a way of adding some forced drama into the story with his outburst.
Also pretty disappointed that they are going with the standard two girl events clashing on the same day, with Nanami all set up to be let down by Sorata. Hope I'm proven wrong and that they do resolve xmas eve in a more unusual way which befits the world that the story is in. Mashiro is pure win all the time though. |

I have to wonder what Jin was thinking this episode too - he seems to be more perceptive than Sorata, if he knows Mashiro likes Sorata and there seems to be some feelings in return there too, why give Aoyama tickets to throw a wrench in things? Shouldn't he have given them to Sorata instead, to help prod him to actually resolve the love triangle instead of making things worse? |

It may be because I am a porcupine, but I understand Sorata's need to create a new distance between him and Shiina. Having a nopan dorm mate to look after is bad enough if she is not in love with you.
That said, there must be better ways to maintain distance than being a jerk. I am just not sure what. Hmm, how about going out with another girl? (Well, perhaps not so attractive after seeing Shiina and knives...) |

Bah. Baka Sorata at his finest again. Makes me feel as if that while SorataXMashiro brings out the best of Mashiro, it actually brings out the worst out of Sorata. Truly sad, and hopefully he starts working on how to change it.

man i wish sorata knew how shiina felt during that conversation when he yelled at her. now sorata will go see a play with aoyama. but i think when they go that play, since they promise, sorata will probably realize how shiina felt and probably will make it up to her.

If anything I'd argue the fact that Sorota is prob more brain dead when it pertains to emotions then Shiina. I have to say I think this is the first time though I've really come to like a girl MC in a romanceish anime since normally you get these girls "zomg i feel hot in the chest and im 17 yrs old what is this feeling?!?!?!". But its realistic for Shiina to have these feelings as she truly doesn't understand them / nor would she in her current state. Makes me like her the most out of any character in the show (as i assume many who watch it also do). Well anyways I went off on a rant there for no reason really lol. However, if Shiina is the one who ends up getting hurt out of the girls at the end of the anime I will never watch another anime by whoever wrote the script to it ^_^. |

I understand that it's not cool what Sorata did and he is maybe being dense but I can't blame him for viewing Mashiro's seemingly random want to cook, which in any other instance comes off as her being her random self, over doing her manga as worrying if not anger inducing (I've seen friends, people who could be great artists piss away their talents over the dumbest shit and, as someone who has to work hard to get something that looks like it belongs in the worst looking OEL Manga, that destroyed me mentally).
Add getting bounced from the design contest before interviews with her just being there not moments after and the ending was like two trains, one with fire and the other with TNT, crashing into one explosive mess. That said, Matsuoka's selling the dood's frustration. |

Failure is a part of life, and Sorata should've realized that. Didn't he accept that he would fail but keep trying in a previous episode? Why did he suddenly go ape-shit on Shiina?
Oh, and something to add; it's Shiina's life and talent, let her do what she wants with it. Just because someone is good at something doesn't mean they have to dedicate their entire being to it. I have a friend who's a natural in drawing, but he's more interested in practical engineering or piloting. None of us piss on him for it though.

Like I said it's a number of factors. If he had time to process just what was going on around him, the powder keg would not have exploded as it did. I mean that was the whole thing back when he screwed up the first time. He pushed her away because he had the time to think and knew better than to blow up in her face, especially as she had succeed.
Here there's no such relief, in fact it comes off (as unintentionally as it is) that she's deliberately failing for reasons that (due to her lack of understanding how to express her emotional feelings) are utterly beyond him. It defys all logic to him, he at least had the safety net of "She's better than me" back when he failed the first time and with out that, kaboom. Like I said, it's not cool that he exploded, but this is a million miles from Rita and her whole stich from a couple of episodes back. |

Well, I am just saying, when I were that age, if I went to sleep each night not knowing whether I would wake up with a severely undressed girl in my bed, I would be a bit unstable too. Actually most people that age are a bit unstable even without that. Sorata is not getting any youth points this week though.
