Yes it is Liechtenstein is a tiny country (it's called a "Principality" I think)between Swiss and Austria... they're famous for their... stamps

... and just like in the first episode, it shows before some kind of disaster where someone gets hurt/killed. We could consider episode 3's blimp to be a premonition for the japanese poet's death on 4, since it only showed at the end...

And I liked this assassin guy who was with the Duke



... he kinda looks like noir's chloe on this picture and Sir Isaac recognized him from this photo:



I think he was also the one who killed the culprit at the end of the episode... the image is kinda dark but check it out:

Yeah, I'm almost positive that I heard Beruze's voice... although the purple-ish shading on his glasses briefly made me wonder if it was Sir Isaac. My respect for Beruze has increased monumentally now that he's actually killing people, haha. So at least he knows how to do more than manipulate impressionable schoolboys and quibble with the principal.

Also, what's with the cat? For an instant I thought it was the kitten from Noir (which would have been almost hilariously appropriate, given the circumstances), but I think this one's coloring is slightly different. Still, maybe Bee Train is continuing the whole cat <--> assassin connection.

My opinion regarding the whole romantic angle has changed slightly. If the Count's daughter ever re-appears in the show, I think they might switch things up a bit by sticking her with Orpherus, and Erika with Ludwig. I have to say, though, Ludwig really didn't give her much of a chance. As far as I can tell, he didn't even try to get to know her--he just sort of threw up his arms and decided "she's not my type." Or something like that.

I think this blimp cameo was the creepiest yet. Good stuff. Overall, I loved this episode. Only Ludwig is capable of simultaneously coming across as a manipulative bastard and a big softy.

Anyway, I've got a question about Camus.

Just how specific is his precognition ability? In episode 3, it was shown that he had a brief glimpse of what would happen to the boy that fell down the stairs. Granted, he couldn't tell it was stairs or anything, but Camus was nevertheless given a fairly recognizable vision of the future.

Camus also has a tendency to say things like "I have a bad feeling about this," etc. For example, he was obviously worried about what would happen at Ludwig's engagement party. Does this mean that he saw (for example) the explosion before it happened, or just that he knows something bad will occur, but can't tell what? If he only rarely sees exactly what will happen, he's less useful than I thought. If he always sees precisely what will happen but hesistates to act on it because he doubts his judgment, at least he has potential.

Have any of you raw-watchers seen episode 6 yet? If so, is it good?

Ep.6 is very good and has a lot of action. There are some more hints of a conspiracy going on and Isaac plays a big part in this ep. Of coarse I missed a lot of the details because I don't understand much Japanese, but I liked ep.6 a lot.


Ep.7 is kind of the lull before the storm if you ask me. There were some hints of things to come but no real action. It focused on the relationships between the main characters, and added some giggly fangirls and good closeups of the main characters. Mostly it was eye candy for me- but hey....whats wrong with a little eye candy now and then


Between the 2 of them, I preferred ep. 6 because of it's more in depth plot.

Aw... how disappointing.

As for episode 7, I'm not really worried. After all, I've seen 6-episode OVAs that manage to pack in an incredible amount of story, and as far as I can tell there's nothing stopping Meine Liebe from doing the same. Only time will tell, I guess.

Ah, but it does the exact opposite. Seems like the producers were expecting us to expect some plot episodes. Thus, they countered with more fluff...
There's not many more new information, although there is some.

Is what I'd like to say, except Meine Liebe keeps teasing us with promises of grand action and delivers little more than empty posturing. Besides, Haibane Renmei had all sorts of interesting theological and psychological symbolism to keep me happy.

Alright, I'll have another go.

"Stop whinging that there's no plot. Like you feel cheated when there's no deep intrigue and so on in MariMite."

But you see, I can't feel sincere when I say that either. MariMite isn't actually about plot, it's slice-of-life soap opera which offers surprisingly realistic characters, and in comparison the Strahl lads are so close to cookie-cutter stereotypes that they could form a boy band.

That wasn't meant as a negative comment, as such. It is clear that Bee Train (or rather, the GBA game makers) didn't intend for the Strahl boys to be accurate, true-to-life representations of seventeen-year-old posh boys in Europe. The show is so laden with archetypes and signifiers in general that it should be no great surprise that the main characters also are.

Now, what Lanithro would like for Christmas (for it has been a very very good Lanithro this year) is for the second half of Meine Liebe to deliver what the first half has teased us with. I want all those loose ends created in the first half to be gathered together and and interwoven to create a storyline which isn't trivial enough to be resolved in just one episode. I want to have to go back and do a re-watch of the series because all the scenes that I thought were pointless actually held great foreshadowing and meaning.

Oh feh. It doesn't matter. I'll forgive the pointlessness, if it turns out to be pointless. It's a nice show regardless. I suppose I reached the conclusion of: yeah, it's fair enough to complain. So much so that I'll join in.

Oh, and all of you that wanted a good female character turning up, check out the preview for episode eight. The lady looks like she'll kick ass. (whilst propogating the "hanging out with girls is not conductive to a long and healthy life" message that ML seems to be giving out thus far). Nice to see a girl who isn't a fluff-for-brains Strahl groupie (no offence to Erika, she's lovely. No offence to any fangirls who might be reading this either. You're probably also lovely.) But on the downside, it doesn't look like the start of the big storyline either. Ample enough opportunities for swooning though.

Actually, this provides another parallel with MariMite, which features a Token Bishounen character amongst the pretty girls. Perhaps Ishtar/Estelle/Unsure-On-Romajiing-Her-Name is the Token Bishoujo amongst the pretty boys. Hope she turns out to be as evil as her counterpart.
