That was quite the Task Force they sent out, definitely seemed to be a reinforced battalion in size. SP Arty, Armor, Mech Infantry, Engineers, possibly an ADA detachment, and a supply and maintenance column to keep everything moving.

I pray to god they have at least a single SPAAG accompanying them. iirc a SPAAG can be useful of sorts as an impromptu anti-infantry tank

Only after learning our science did Lelei started exploring new avenues of magic never thought before.

Spell takes time to cast and is straight shot. Combat is fluid and in motion. So the dragon may have moved (more like probably has) from the time she started casting, hence the aim being off. But if it comes straight at them, it'll get a face full.

As of current manga, they have two area of operations:

The main base surround the Gate, which must be defended at all cost.

The capital of the Empire where they brew a plan of capture it if the need arise.

At least a platoon of infantry is in capital, based on the earth quake chapters, and the reinforcement mission that our MC abandoned.

There is no concrete mentions, but my guess is that Second and Third Company are stationed at the base with spare personels in capital (recon and infantry units, jeeps). Direct subordinates of MC is on the way to the capital and may already arrived.

Interesting chapter.

But why are they making Tuka fire the "Rod of Steel" ? Are they out of there minds! O_o No wonder it missed. Shes quickly became the most annoying character in this series. More annoying than the Fujoshi. Will killing the dragon raelly change anything, her fathers not coming back. Grieve, get on with life.

Rori was awesome , Funny how shes ticked off when it got away. I am hoping on the last page shes scheming a prank to pull on that dark elf. I've been waiting for more Rori pranks for a while now. Shes hitting on your Itami, humiliate that dark elf!

Itami had Tuka fire it because it is what shrinks refer to as "face your fear and defeat it." It's her revenge and he was trying to help her take it. Unfortunately she's a tad broke right now. PTSD is no laughing matter either and for someone it hits...'grieving and getting on with life' isn't so simplistic. 1st hand experience speaking.

and also in a literal sense, you can't just hand a person a glass full of "toughen the fuck up" and expect them to gulp it down and stand up to face life again.

as for his personal weapon, Itami should have bought an LMG with AP rounds in case the PzF 3's fail (how many launchers and warheads did he pack in that vehicle?) or are expended. if scales are as hard as tungsten but lighter, why not blast it with tungsten carbide rounds for experimental lulz? the .50 BMG's ball rounds dont do squat during its first encounter.

LMG is bulky as fuck for a slender form like Tuka. You want bang for the buck destruction, you want her can hold it a bit, you want to be able to help her, a panzerfaust is nice with all of them.

Easier to get is this, LMG is not as good as the vehicle mounted LMG. At first battle, they do tiny damage and when the dragon cover its head with wings, those pinprick damages wouldnt do squat since they cant penetrate.

On the other hand, PF is proven to able to blast one arm off its body.

Back to the answer, he told the intel officer to get him 10 PFs. No mention of LMG.

Do you even think before you write?

There's no meaning if Tuka doesn't confront the dragon herself. She stood before the dragon, was attacked by it, attacked it, and even then she chose to escape reality and continue to call Itami "Father".

Watching a video of a dragon being killed? That wouldn't do shit.

The whole reason as to why they are even fighting the dragon is to let Tuka overcome her trauma. They are not there to simply kill the dragon.

But killing it wont bring her father back. Well at best they could recover the corpse from its belly, but even that is a long shot not worth holding your breath for. Alot of dark elves are in the same boat as Tuka. They all lost family. They want to kill the dragon to prevent the destruction of their clan. Its not going to bring anyone back. Tho in this world, you could speculate visiting the underworld could change things.

It's not about avenging her father. Itami is forcing Tuka to confront the dragon to make her face reality. That her real father is dead and she has to face that and live on. And the best way to do that is making Tuka kill the dragon. That way, she'll confront the source of her fear and trauma, and be forced to face reality.

Besides, even if revenge won't bring her father back, it will at least bring some relief to her heart.

But going back to when they were escorting the village, It was Tuka who pointed out shooting at the eye is more effective. She seemed alright then. Showed little fear towards the dragon itself. So is her trauma related to the dragon ? or is it the father which seems to be the apparent reason. Shes only really become a mess in the last dozen of chapters.

If its just for the stories sake, and this trauma shes been building up will be magically cured by the dragons death at her hand, then just say that then. Really no point talking about further if the author just wanted a magical cure with a half assed reason.
