You know what's sad? That we have characters of unreleased series such like Valkyria Chronicle 3 that are present, yet not having their game released (whereas few niche game would hardly be localized, franchises like VC is a different story).

If this was anything but a grid-based SRPG I would be thrilled.
I hate this sort of gameplay, so as as much as I love the concept and the fact it's actually going to be localized I'm gonna have to pass. (And the lack of Sonic and Tails depresses me.)

Love the demo, and best part, for me at least, is that it has the japanese voices in it!
"Demo A" is basically just one battle and you can experiment with he combat mechanism. It doesn't go to much into the story, but it is a a good thing, as it highlight the key mechanics of the gameplay, without spoiling too much. |

Yes, but it's still a time sink. They are kinda overdoing with the reinforcement in this game. Imagine breaking through 50 enemy units, and each one take you roughly 1 to 2 minutes.
Still, I'm clocking at 20 hours of continuous playing already . Be able to fully understand character interaction is a wonderful thing. Something I missed out in SRW. I love that No.17 Valkyrie joke .

Finished my first playthrough a few days ago, and I'm back up to Chapter 14. really, really loving this game. The combat, the character interactions, the settings (that I've recognized) are all top notch. Even the story isn't all that bad. If you make a couple inferences about how some dead characters come back, everything makes sense.
And even if you think the story is garbage, it's worth it to read through the text just so you don't miss any of the jokes. There's a hilarious Firefly reference in chapter 26, and I pity anyone and everyone who misses it. |

How many hours does this game has for one playthrough? I'm thinking of beating this game while I'm stuck grinding for Overclock but I'm afraid that I'll invest too much time for this and forget about overclock

Long battles are nothing if you are really a hardcore SRPG player, I've spent a week on a single stage of SRW@3 just to max out the kills on the enemies unlimited spawning.
The problem here is the battle system requires too much repetitive attention. After NamcoXCapcom, SRWOG Endless Frontier and Exceed, this battle system has become too tedious. This game is mostly good because of fanservice, both animation and cross over character interactions.

While you make a good point, I still think it's the length that makes the game aggravting at points. Post-game Disgaea gets you used to repetitive actions through the endless amounts of grinding. The battle system forcing you to pay attention is better than attempting to keep your attention after playing a game for about 6+ hours straight. The problem is that a single turn ends up taking a 1-2 minutes. This is just speaking from my experience with SPRGs, but usually a turn with a single character takes around 10-30 seconds top.
I agree, the best part of the game is seeing some of your favorite characters meet and interact with each other. |
