I know this may be random but after watching ep 40 I have a question: What is in that green "backpack" that Happy wears?

According to the official character sketch in the "Fairy Tail +" complete guide to Fairy Tail manga (page 183), it is labled "fukushiki" (cloth sack), with "nakami wa sakana" = contains fish.

So yes, it's cloth sack that holds his fish.

lol i always wondered about that myself. For the episode itself, wow Natsu kicked ass. Good bump in the animation that helped it. And yeah Simon dying like sold me on the sadness factor.

Excellent episode. Hit me harder then I was expecting. Natsu's power was only "hinted" here as he wasnt fully transformed like gajeel (or how ever you spell it).

10/10

What, are you serious? One Piece has a lot more fans, and the manga started back 1997.

There's no excuses, though there are reasons.

Complain all you want but this thread is actually quite stale compared to others in this forum. I love me some fairy tail as much as any other in this thread but I don't think it recons a full board for it.

Anyway finally watched episode 40 and must say it was a very very good episode, the animation was amazing and I was really concerned for the characters (I think this is the first time since I started watching fairy tail were I don't know what'll happen next and the enjoyment just went up cause of it).

OP characters have all been explored in depth, the World Government is an established force upon the world and has immediate impact on everything, while Fairy Tail only has shady dark guilds with little to no background and the main guild characters tell little of their past. And that's just a small sample of why OP deserves its own subforum.
If we made an FT subforum, 4/5 threads would be pure speculation instead of discussion...not saying that speculation isn't fun, but there's only so many weeks you can do it.

OOPS, did a double post.

Spoiler for big off-topic:

On topic:

I noticed anime removed natsu animation with the fists before use magic.

It was good, that magic circle and the animation of that was getting old.

Also noticed they did that with erza too.

Its a good change, it makes the battles go faster.

I remember a few of us saying back when the adaptation started that they'd probably remove those silly magic circles later in the series. Let's just hope they stay away.

Its surprising that they just removed them at episode 40.

They should have removed them after episode 5.

That is also for the transformation of erza.

It gets very repetitive.

Maybe they just got tired of drawing the circles?

Lets hope that lazyness lasts

Whats so wrong with the magic circles? Is it just because they weren't in the manga that people don't like them?

doesn't matter, i thought i saw once a topic gets 1000 replies it gets its own sub forum.

there shouldn't be any exceptions. if that is the rule, then it should apply asap for any and all shows/manga that reach it.

That's actually not the rule.

Anyway that should be the end of this off-topic conversation.

They look like melted clay.. shoulda stuck with the sharp cgi. If they cant blend the circle into the attacks like Nanoha there's no point.

Episode was win. I hope the next episode isn't as filler-rific as implied by the preview.
