angels can move stars but that's an arch angel and no ordinary angel. I don't see anyone below fiamma pulling that kind of stunt. Even fiamma before the alignment is complete can't do it. That's why he needs an archangel to do it.

And to note how strong a GRB is.....if one occurred at the nearest star system.....our planet is a microwaved cinder.

Well, for one thing, GRB's are usually linear. They don't explode in a 360 degree area. So one being in the nearest star system won't necessarily hit us.

But yes, the ray would melt our planet.

yeah i saw on documentary on tv, when one side of the planet hits by GRB, it is spread the effects of radiation to the remaining parts of planet...

except for: Accelarator (oh no he can't do that that process internally )

Actually, if Accelerator continues to grow in power, I would think he might become capable of replicating a similar event.

Question

Regarding Hliðskjálf and it's capacity to produce unknown power; is it sort of like a magic equivalent of Dark Matter, only with energy rather than matter?

matter and energy are technically the same, but thats for another time... Dark matter changes anything it touches including light energy. [Odin's throne] on the other hand simply converts the users magic into something else.

No....Dark Matter does whatever the hell Kakine wants it to. At least that's what his actions seem to imply.

The Star collapses onto itself, Not only that you need trillions of mass, several times of our sun. One tiny Esper does not cut it, Gamma Ray Burst are out of this world powerful.
So the Gamma Ray Burst is the cause of the nova which describes a star collapsing onto itself? And the GRB depends on the scale of mass? Then even fictionally speaking and by sheer assumption that it would be possible, it simply isn't possible?

Depends on the type of Radiation. Basically when you blast someone with microwave radiation, you cook them from the inside out. Though its if you focus on the brain only they'll die with less smell... seen it on a show once...

X-ray and the likes on the other hand, its a matter of either you curing cancer, or giving cancer.

it's the result, not the cause. There seem to be otherfactors but mass is the key.

you can still have an esper use gamma radiation, just not that powerful.

What kinda types of radiation are there or are there too many to list/count? Must be really painful to have your limbs cooked inside out.

You mentioned insta-kill before but if said ability can be controlled precisely, would a specific frequency of X-Rays be able to put a person into a desired state of cancer? For example the state before the person dies which I assume is the most painful one.

Ahh, thanks. That makes more sense.

I know we probably don't have alot of mecha fans watching Index, but maybe this could spark some interest...

Academy City Deterrence Policy
"We destroy your house, crush your car, and burn down your city... But hey, at least you're still alive, right ?"

Power Suits

Spoiler for Large Weapon aka "Resistance is Futile":

Supersonic Stealth Bombers

Spoiler for HsB-02 aka "Slash and Burn":

If you've seen Railgun, they already have. They do look quite weird though.

Powered suits will be used in season three if there is one.

The Power suits yeah, they are a sizable part of Academy City's war machines.

Railgun's suit gave the impression of them being slow and bulky. According to Tsuchimikado, the ones they deployed in France have insane mobility and balance, so much that they outperform a human doing the same movements. That is some crazy technology right there

Even though the ones used inFrance and vol 19 are just as bulky actually. It isn't until 20+ that they become more like human sized armour suits

But that's also the crazy thing about the Power Suits used in France- To be able to move even just as good as a human being despite it's bulky size has to be some technological achievement. I don't think the machines of our world have yet replicate the human body.

thats good as most sci-fi have some mecha anyway, and what about cybernetic body parts did the novel introduce some?

Yeah, but most sci-fi depicts large power suits as bulky and have balance issues...

Anyway Yes, some guy had parts of a power suit implanted into his body for superhuman physical performance. If you're talking about automails like for Fulmetal Alchemist, they have prosthetic parts.
