Otaku Exploitation?

Heh, this isn't a deep topic about otaku hobbies being bought up and doled out at devastating prices by American companies (or Bandai :P). This is just a link to a video on tokyo mango, a blog from Tokyo.

http://www.tokyomango.com/tokyo_mang...omic_girl.html

Seriously, was this actually aired on national T.V. ?

*Sorry if this is old news for you guys, or this is the wrong place to post, I'm still a n00b on these forums >.<

The ad is just slick marketing and its obviously going to genrate contversy which will increase sales and product knowledge . The Ad has the shock effect/appeal which further boosts sales .

On a diffrent note Otaku exploitation is rampant the key word is franchising its worst in region 1 as most of the products are imports they can charge exhuberant prices and get away with it . You would know what I am saying if you tried or even purchasing a Zanagetsu replica or a Kanoha Head Band

Um, I'm pretty sure that's a fan-made parody of a scene from the anime MOO, (Melody of Oblivion), and not a real milk commerical (or at least, the anime parts weren't).

Yet another fan made video being mistaken for truth... what has this world come to?

A place where people do not even read replies to the entry in this blog (there were at least 2 replies doubting the thing - saying its based on an anime). I'ld say I'ld be at least a little bit cautious with taking for truth whats said there after reading that - so it can't hurt to further investigate the validity then... before reposting it here

I was doubtful; though to be honest if you've ever watched one of those shows about weird adverts from around the world you'd be tempted to believe it ^^.

I was mostly posting this because even if it is a fake or a fan-made parody it's pretty funny. As a side concern I did wonder if my title choice would start a load of posts on the ridiculous price of anime/manga/models etc in America and Europe, but I'm pretty sure they exist in plenitude elsewhere on the forums :P

Rather than Otaku exploitation, I see this as women image exploitation..(although as said this is probably untrue)

Regarding prices, I doubt it's actual exploitation in any sense.
Anime-based goods are still catering to a niche market. After all, the average American kid isn't going to purchase a high grade Gundam model or pay upwards of $100 for all the DVD's to his favorite anime.

It's the same for all niche markets.

There is a major diffrence in the Japanese prices and prices in Region 1 . I dont think anyone in Japan would buy those goods with Region 1 prices . Its a niche market yes also being considerate of midde-man profits its still overpriced IMO .

If you've seen the official Japanese milk campaign (on TV, on posters in trains and on billboards, as well as on milk cartons) you'd know in a second that its fake or very, very old
