This series has definitely gotten better as it's progressed. The last couple of eps have combined action and emotional drama in a pretty brilliant way. There's not much happiness going on up there on screen, but if it's angst and blood you're looking for, park it right here...

As one who has the movie and the manga and who is following the series I can say this much. Both are wonderful, but, whereas the manga is a continuation of the movie, the series is more of an "Alternate Universe".
I'd say more but I don't know how to turn the spoiler setting on... |

You've got a point there. I was just trying to say that we know that he had some sort of relationship to Saya. Whatever that relationship is, I bet he was wishing he could comfort her too. He didn't have to turn around at the moment she started crying. Even if he is face is unreadable most of the time, he seemed sad. But that was just my interpretation. I tend to see things, made up or otherwise.
I really wish that Hagi would just do one of these once! |

Exactly. I do believe that is Hagi's normal facial expression. I really liked the 13th episode, it was better than what I had expected it to be. I look forward to watching the next episode. I'm really happy that this series is getting better. ; )

I think Haji is deeply hurting because Saya is suffering and he can't seem to do anything to help her other than protect her as best he can as her Chevalier. I love how this story is unfolding, I can't wait to see more
However.. we need more Haji + Saya <3 lol |

Haji has a heart too *_*
Here's what I think: I think Haji, more than anyone else, understands the extent of Saya's suffering. I think they have a very long history and look forward to seeing it unfold. I also think Haji loves her and maybe it does make him sad that he cannot reach her whether due to memory loss or when she goes berserk. After all, her brother was the one to stop her. Saya is an immortal. I think Haji knows that ultimately her happiness with her remaining family will be shattered. I'm not sure there will ever be a "back to normal" for Saya. I think Haji too realizes this and he empathizes with her because, especialy when she remembers what she perhaps is better off not remembering, things will really hit the fan. |

Episode 14 gives us a new OP and ED, "Season's Call" by Hyde and "Cry No More" by Mika Nakashima respectively. Since I haven't watched the last few episodes yet I can't actally tell how much of the OP will be significant, but it's very stylish indeed (Hebrew! Pointy faces! Saya's family in goth-looking coats and jumpers!) and the song rocks.

I can't say I liked the new OP that much. About the same as the old OP. Some bits of the animation were nice though. The ED song is nice, and the basic animation is fine with me.
As for the actual ep... a fairly nice "in between" ep. The gang go back home for a day. We also get to see inside the family tomb - and Saya's cocoon. Actually, the next ep looks like it might be another "in between" ep, but for other characters, particularly the photographer - who has recognised Saya from his dad's photos. |

Although this episode was devoid of any action, it was a nice transition story as Saya must say goodbye to her old life to face her tough future. Yeah, judging by the preview, the next one seems to be another "in betweener" as you said. It would be good if they use it to unravel or even present more mysteries. |

The opening doesn't seem to have a steady melody like most songs. But it's okay. Look forward to the full version. Don't really like the ending. Have to the full version. Didn't understand the ep. But she goes back home and meets up with her friend from school then i guess sets out to leave at the end.

I loved the new OP and ED songs and the animations that went with them even more. I think they really outdid themselves with this one, especially compared to the first OP and ED (which were good songs, but I wasn't quite as impressed with the animation sequences).

I've been disappointed by this series a fair amount, but the new OP showed me stuff that I wanted to see, so I'll keep watching.
Kai in a matrix-like black coat thing looking all bishie = good. The direction and animation of this OP beats the first one IMO. Haven't seen the ep itself or the ED though... I hope the show gets darker from now on and deals more with the past, not more "LIVE FOR TOMORROW!!" nonsense and stupidly cheesy vampires...

the show is ok honestly i am a little bit dissapointed but its suppose to be a long series soo theres bound to be ups and downs . Kai in matrix mode is all good just missing the glasses and i also hope he does something instead of running around and say something smart and we still dont know much bout riku's ability

Hmm.... by the looks of the older Kai in the OP, is it possible that throughtout the whole Blood+ anime, they will pull a Tsubasa/HnG where several years actually went by throughout the anime and the characters go from teenagers to adults?
Anyway, I hope that Kai can get a decent role soon. So far, his role hasn't been really impressive. Even Riku's future looks brighter than his. XD |

Yeah, so far Kai has been BLOODY ANNOYING (like half the characters in this series to me), and not only that, uselses as well... At least give him a change of clothes, dammit! It'd be great to see him get a bit of a better role...
I don't think the characters age though, Riku didnt look that much older to me.

Did anyone watch the "Yomiko no BLOOD+" special? The program introduced several new faces that we will be seeing soon in future episodes...
Spoiler:
If anyone could correct, clarify or add anything to what I have gathered from the special, that would be awesome...thanks a lot! By the way, there is a stream of the portion of the special where they introduced the new characters. |
