The "kill 'em all" line works with Tomino works such as Zambot, Ideon and Victory Gundam.

Well, I'm not for kill em all.

But I will expect a few good characters to bite the dust in the movie.

I don't care as long as it contributes to the movie. I just hate how people want everyone to die, if not the show is shitty.

You see how the 3 Astray Girls in Gundam Seed died? That's what I call unnecessary deaths. I can see he's trying something like Zeta Gundam, or Victory Gundam, but the impact is nowhere near as good.

Operational time limit in itself is not an issue except for scouting units; It's the same reason why we don't need nuclear-powered tanks, but there IS a benefit for nuclear powered submarines. Tanks just need to operate long enough for a single battle, because the crew couldn't fight continuously anyway. While submarines can benefit under long operational time without refueling.

You only really need limitless operating time if you expect the unit to operate without support for days or weeks. Unless you are a spy unit, that's rare.

I thought you'd be more aware about that, since I saw you in the Technical thread for a while.

In short, the more you use it, the worse it becomes.

I never heard that about the Tau Drives, the only down fall I've heard is that they need recharging.

The whole degraded thing is news to me. Where was that stated?

Somewhere among the piles of technical things in Technology thread. Someone mentions that the main downside of the GN Tau Drives isn't from short time usage, since the Thrones were able to run around for 3 days while engaging combat here and there. The real downside is mentioned by Vallen Chaos Valiant above.

I believe the Tau drive require both electrical energy plus a catalyst for the Tau drive to operate, when both of these are exhausted the drive ceases operation.

when the electrical energy and catalyst levels are low the drive must enter a fuel conservation state giving the mobilesuit just enough energy to return to their mothership/base for refuelling

I think it's stated somewhere that the use of Trans am permanently damages a tau drive requiring either replacement parts/maintainence or a completely new drive.

well, unless Mizushima & Kuroda is feeling depressed right now by people who bash their works, anything gruesome could happen anytime

I don't think a whole lot of bashing is going on.

00 is getting a movie after all.

It refers to Tomino's shows where the ending was both very depressing and most of the cast die. Examples are Zambot 3, Aura Battler Dunbine and the best, Ideon where the entire universe is destroyed, along with Zeta Gundam and Victory Gundam. It's not bad writing at all, just a way to compllete wrap everything up. Not all stories have a happy ending.

More examples, see here

i pefer endings in anime not to be too happy or too sad, just the right balance in between. I hate those sunshine and rainbows endings in anime where everyone gets on jus like that and where everyone finds their special someone somehow.

Those kind of endings make me sick. Gundam 00 s1 ending was just amazeing and s2 ended okay.

In fact, most of them are pretty good, but that doesn't mean you have to kill em all to make a show good.

Actually it's just not for endings, it's for the whole shows. No idea were you got this ending idea from.
