It... jumped back to the present at the end of the episode.

Yes, but where's the majority of the story going to lie? That's what I was asking. Is it going to be a majority of flashbacks with the occasional return to the present for context, or what?

The first episode just gave me the impression that we have a lot of flashbacks in the near future. Not that that bothers me, I was just curious. I could read the manga, but I want to NOT know what's going to happen beforehand.

This episode was mostly the first chapter of the manga which was omitted in the first series for some reason.... the series as a whole takes place after the events of S1 but there will be flashbacks throughout...

The flashback was the first chapter, so really the anime adapted it out of sequence. This season will take place almost entirely when Rikuo is 12-13 years old.

Yeah, after that one time four years ago he didn't even turn into a yokai again until season one (he claims that he doesn't remember the incident but we all know that's a bald-faced lie).

Just watched episode 2 raw, my faith in DEEN has been restored.. for this series anyway... As far as sequels go this is the clear Most Improved Player!

Spoiler for 2:

And it only keeps getting better from now on... can't wait to see some scenes animated... ED was nice too.

Spoiler for Episode 2:

The ED seems to be more Yura than Tsurara and both are featured way more than Kana. I approve.
Although I thought that Toradora has the trademark on Orange themed EDs.

Hmm...

Give me a couple of eps to see if it still grabs me as much as the premiere did. If so, I'll probably pick it up either there or at LiA.

Just saw episode 1, looks like animation has improved. Preview looks entertaining so can't wait till episode 2 is translated.
Hopefully the last fight will be better this time around.

Hmm, the pacing still seemed a bit off in episode two (really fast and it seemed strange that they included part of a mini-arc that wasn't really needed) but the music before the fight started up was pretty cool.

Well, Yami makes appearances later on, so they had to devote a LITTLE screen time to him.

A shame they couldn't fit in that full chapter, but if they are trying to squeeze in the Kyoto arc, it's understandable. I just hope that this means there won't be any filler, at all.

The little bit of 'Rikuo evading stuff' in stills was particularly jarring in this episode. Of all the cost-cutting measures, it felt so weird to see stills of characters evading stuff.

A decent episode though, I'm still a little bit unsure on the usage of the colour palette on the night scenes... simply because they're rarely nice.

Yura looks rather nice in the ED.

Wow Yura's brother acts like a youkai himself, even worse. Someone really should give him a mirror.
I wonder how Yura will react to this new truth about Rikuo, can't wait!

I don't really think much about the OP, but the ED is definitely eye-catching... In more ways than one heh.

Sigh, I hate these type of episodes where the guy just drags it out before eventually taking action at the end of the episode, but I suppose I'm used to it already.

Yay Yura got to shine. Her brother is bad news. Rikuo had no option left but to reveal himself to Yura, but he didn't lie when saying he was a human. I wonder what she'll think of him now that she knows. Like how Yuki-Onna knew right away something was wrong.
