The best hope for mankind are taking a summer vacation while the rest of the world burns? This is sooo boring. Get back to the action already. There are enough shows about being stuck on an island with cute girls. If I wanted to see that I would go watch one of them. TE better get back to the face eating real soon or this is going to be a total loss.

TE is about TSF research and development, not gung-ho with BETA. Even in WW2, the researchers and test pilot/driver is far away from front line like that.

If these are the people who are supposed to save the world then the world is in very big trouble....

If your logic is correct, then when the prototype is perfected and produced; will the series end with the main characters shipping the production models to the front lines with a "Job Well Done!!" banner waving behind them?

Fine, I thought this series was going to go in a different direction. Perhaps it will. Hope is eternal.

Soldiers aren't machine... they need rest like all people do. Many of them may die anyway. Why deprived them of something they will enjoy even once before there'll be actually no time to enjoy.

But they are not. This was established a long time ago that TE is just a spin off story to the main story. if you want to learn about humanity saviors go ask in the Game thread instead.

Yui was much less of a bitch, and as expected, turns out liking the guy now. As a Yuuya fan, this new triangle surrounding him is nice.

But this episode proves a lot of my points from last week. Yui was stubborn, more than she needed to be but she realized this and even stated she should have went about it another way. Yuuya can be stubborn to, but still has a honorable side to him. And I LOVED how he was mature and said they should stop arguing and work together, that pretty much made Yui a horny chaser for him now

So all in all, for Yuuya fans, this episode was good, for Yui fans, they hated it. :P

Look, this is not a certain fight for food anime, and I know this one left a bitter taste in the mouths of many because of a certain character. Yui is NOT some untouchable and untouched misandrist jerk, getting away with everything she does while having her fans silently nodding at everything she does.

What Yui fans have done is to acknowledge her flaws, they also got sick of her taking the blame for EVERYTHING that have had gone wrong between Yuuya and her. The events of this episode is nowhere the victory in a petty war between sexes, it is two flawed people realizing they have gone wrong with things for whatever reason.

That's not true, and I like both Yuuya & Yui. Loved the development in this episode, and it looks like Yuuya may have scored some points.

Yui hot too by the way. Yuuya actually manga to be pretty cool being Genre Savvy while NOT going to peek, and going through entire island-situation like a boss.

For a long time, I didn't get the huge significance that the Japanese (at least in anime) place on calling someone by their given name. So certain romance developments in anime seemed odd to me at first, until I got that.

For a born and bred American like Yuuya, calling someone by their given name is probably not a big deal. I know that where I live in Canada, people tend to default to a first-name basis with just about anybody they know personally.


It'll be interesting to see what comes of the first time Yuuya calls Yui by her given name. If the writers keep this cultural disconnect in mind, it could make for a pretty amusing scene.

I understand that anime tends to make a huge thing about people calling each other by their first name, but I really think it is more of an anime and manga thing. From my experience going to Japan and meeting people there, they are very comfortable calling each other and talking to me by first names. They said it was more a child thing to call each other by last name. Of course, in business, they still call each other by last name to show respect, much like how we use Mr. and Ms.

Even my friend who went over and lived in Japan for a year did not notice this disconnect as much. It might also have to do with the fact that Japan has more western influence now more than ever as well. However, from what I understand, I really do believe this calling someone by their first name to mean something special is more for anime and manga purposes than is actual practice in the real world.

That was actually the base commander, and the guy Yui and the flight captain reports to. They really didn't give him a proper introduction.
