This is correct. The Force Next says the ship was designed as a fast assault transport that carries 200 troops. It is not a battleship.

I agree, it would make sense that Erio can fly. Unless Dragon Knights have a not flying without dragons policy.
Erio and Subaru were on the mission because they can fly, but Teana and Caro weren`t because they can`t ?

Subaru can't fly. She has Wing Road, which is not flight. Wing Road also lets other people who can't fly get through the air. We've been given no hint that Erio can fly without Strada, which he was not using.

Why he was on the mission in the first place ? Maybe because he can fly ?
How was he planning to go after Isis after she jumped off the ship to go after Thoma ? Flying maybe ?

In that logic, can Curren fly ? Serious, we never saw that she can... How she goes around is a mystery. A broomstick for all we know.

To go after Isis he'd probably have to switch to Strada. I can't really see him using that to rocket around and carry a Strike Cannon on his arm at the same time. We don't even know if AEC equipment have storage forms like regular Devices.

Curren can very likely fly. Or the Huckebein have two flying motorcycles. >.>

Even it was the case, can she fly on her own or is it the Book ?
So far, Thoma was never shown flying on his own, the Book was the one doing it.(Didn`t saw the last chapter.)

So? Nanoha was still using Raising Heart. Fate is still using Bardiche. And yet both learned new spells and tricks in the interim between series. Erio has learned Zanbar form as of SSX. Doesn't Nanoha's new toys includes flight aids?

Besides, back when she was still actively using RH her Flight was due Axel Fins, a spell - RH can assist that spell in Standby Mode.The only flight aid Erio is known to have is Strada's rocket boosters, which is more of a device-mode and he must activate Strada and hold it steadily to fly.

Until I see a scene of him actually flying...

Something like that--the Fortress Equipment, besides providing extra weaponry and shields, allows for sustained flight in Zero Effect, which presumably cancels out regular magical flight.

It does cancel magical flight, i remeber Vita anouncing her descense because she's rapidly loosing her ability to fly.

So even if Erio has learned how to fly, he still might not be shown using it because of the zero effect.

Random amusement that came to me as I further thought on Thoma, Lily, and Isis sharing a room:

Nanoha: "You three look so tired; what happened?"
Lily: *yawns* "Sorry, Thoma kept us up all night. His sword kept popping out and I had to bind our bodies together to return him to normal, and then Isis came over to see what the ruckus was and there was a big white explosion when she touched his sword... she said she was sorry, although Thoma was equally ashamed for being unable to control himself."
