Well, the first part of the ep was about Otonashi's past, poor him.

Second part was about hot springs fishing, lol. Kanade really looked like Yin from the OVA with all those flowers and her hat

And the last 20 seconds delivered

Oh boy, I can't wait to see the reactions to this episode....

Spoiler for episode 7 short summary +impressions:

• Naoi is now part of the SSS and a complete comic relief. I don't know how to feel about that... also, he's totally gay for Otonashi. Really.
  
• Yuri asks Naoi to use his geass on Otonashi to make him recover his memories.
  
• Otonashi's sister (didn't catch her name) was voiced by Nakahara Mai, and thus moe as hell. Of course, I couldn't help but think of Nagisa, and just like her, she died of KeyAIDS as expected. The whole flashback was really too predictable and typical Key stuff, plus way too rushed. Didn't really work for me...
  
• After his siter dies, I thought Otonashi was going to kill himself, but he actually gets his life together and is quite successful in doing so, until he dies in an accident. It shows the unfairness of life/god once again.
  
• Back to the present, Otonashi cries for a while but doesn't stay depressed too long. The SSS goes fishing and he invites Kanade (so moe with that hat ). Of course the other members protest but Yuri says it's fine since she's no longer Student Council president. Plus, Naoi is also with them so...
  
• New members introduced and some epic fishing from Kanade. She's got a passive skill called Overdrive that gives her super strength, which leads to some comedy, and her bullying others for once (although not intentionally)
  
• The episode end with Yuri getting attacked by an EVIL TENSHI CLONE WITH RED EYES. It looks like she was created when Kanade used her new harmonics skill while fishing.
  
  That answers my question on who was going to be the villain from now on.

Spoiler for Ep07 summary:

Cliffhanger ending. All in all, a good ep.

First half was about Otonashi's backstory. Naoi's still here, and they put his hypnotism to good use. He hypnotized Otonashi into remembering his past life. So, he used to have a sister that was terminally ill. He worked for her and tried to keep her happy but then her death inevitably came. However, Otonashi did not let this daze him, and he got over her death pretty fast. He started working hard, and got some ticket (invitation into a popular university perhaps). Suddenly, he died during a train crash. Quite tragic, since he worked so hard only to have his dreams crushed by an unfortunate accident. Also, I believe all the people here in this afterlife share similar pasts as him. They all recovered from some depression, worked hard to follow their dreams and then suddenly died to completely avoidable, anticlimactic accidents.

Second half, they went on a fishing competition on the "Monster Stream". Otonashi meets Kanade by the garden, and invites her to come. Surely enough, the SSS are reluctant to accept her at first, but then they accept since Yuri (or was it someone else?) said that "After all, she's not the SCP anymore [so she won't harm us]." A lot of things happen, and Kanade ends up hooking a really big fish. Now, she uses her skills (including harmonics) to take down this fish. After that, they cooked the big fish and ate it for food. At the end, however, Yuri appears all slashed up, and then says that she got owned by "Tenshi". It turns out the the Harmonics clone that Kanade created a while ago went rogue, and is now after the SSS.

Adun Toridas. Now, if they manage to tame the rogue clone, the party is complete, and they can then take down the Overmind.

Otanashi x Kanade FTW

While I wasn't all that pleased with the "easy" resolution regarding Ayato, this episode was very good.
As much as it looks like a filler first, it is refreshing regarding characters interactions, namely Yuri, Otonashi (or should I say, Yuzuru now) and Kanade.
The way how Kanade could join the SSS was natural with Yuzuru as the mediator (and Yuri still being sensitive).

For some reasons, the whole "fun" part really reminds me of Maeda's usual antics (especially similar to Clannad and Little Busters! so to speak), which isn't bad at all. I must say, the punch lines were a bit too classic, but working nevertheless.
Speaking of which, since Saito was voiced by Midorikawa (Yoshino Yusuke, Natsume Kyousuke), I expected a ridiculous speech, and it was indeed the case .
"Overdrive is passive"... seriously, I think Kanade is a -huge- JRPG otaku

That being said, the last portion of the episode is wide open for some batshit though I'm more curious of the reason why Harmonics Kanade (or rather Tenshi) is going rogue like this. But back from the fish slicing hi ougi, she already had red eyes so.

One thing about the studio: even if the quality isn't really outstanding, they make some efforts by skipping ED sequence once again.

Really funny and touching episode and it would be great if they expand it a little. But I guess they are limited for 1 person's background story per episode. Well Kanade is just pure moe. And now kanade is calling otonashi yuzuru and otonashi or yuzuru would be calling kanade kanade. Isn't that a great development.

But still this episode reeks YAOI air everywhere.

The BL pandering is obvious but I don't mind. Let the girls have their fun too.

Also, Otonashi keeps on raising event flags with Kanade. I guess he's set on clearing the story on Kanade route.

Yuri thought she might be an anime otaku in the novel, but now this seems far more likely (either that or she's both)

Well, of course the eye colour (red eyes), but I was hoping for more of an appearance change than just eyes. xD

The thing with Ayato is probably how he can't do stuff alone (as he doesn't seem to have any weaponry) and that he is pretty much Yuzuru's fanboy, not to mention they encountered him only once.

Meanwhile, they clashed with Kanade so many times she was basically their sworn enemy for ages (and I think "Tenshi" is much more intimidating with her deadly skills than a guy who relies on his armed goons to do something)
