Moyashimon Returns (noitaminA)

ANN: Another television anime adaptation of Masayuki Ishikawa's Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture manga has been green-lit under the title Moyashimon Returns. The new anime will premiere in Fuji TV's late-night programming block Noitamina on Thursdays this July.

Whoa! I've been waiting for this since the end of the first series, so let's hope it's the same cast and crew to give us more of that Moyashimon goodness.

Let's Brew!

Much overlap between the anime and live action? Seems like this series would be well suited to a live action anyway, will give it a shot for sure.

Ohh, this is wonderful news! I didn't think there would ever be an another season, especially after so long. The first season aired all the way back in 2007! That's an eternity ago!

Anyway, can't wait!

Hasegawa is pretty much the only reason to watch that piece of crap. And even then, it wasn't enough to get me to finish the series (and it's very rare for me to drop shows). Not worth a single minute of your time imo. You're better off watching only the anime.

This and Natsuyuki Rendezvous start on July 6th(July 5th for most of us)

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...ted-for-july-5

I wonder if the start in early July means that this gets 12 episodes instead of 11.

This announcement might generate a bit more interest in Moyashimon Returns:

Miyuki Sawashiro Joins Moyashimon Returns Cast

She'll be playing a new character named Marie.

I like that they are going to show an advance screening at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology a few days before the series launches on noitaminA. Wonder how many of the students there can see microbes? Even more, I wonder how many of them dress like Hasegawa. It would be a riot if there were dozens of young ladies in the audience for the promo all dressed in black leather.

I wish I understood Japanese. The game show looked amusing. Maybe someone (BSS, hint hint) will sub these? They're long enough that it would be worthwhile, but short enough to do fairly quickly.

If A. Oryzae plushies reappear this summer, I'll be purchasing my first anime stuffed toy.

Well, given that you're reading this thread, most of us would probably answer yes. Stick to the anime, though. The live-action remake of the first series suffers from the Japanese tendency to mug and overact in comedy roles.

Just out of curiosity I tried downloading BSS's H.264 version of the first season. Though there are five seeds and two peers, and I could announce myself to the tracker, the torrent remained stalled. I'm sure you can find another location where it is archived; I just can't mention it here because it also has licensed materials.
