I'd like to request an action anime with a lot of development, along with magic (of course, hehe.). By a fast-paced anime, I mean something like Shakugan no Shana, which really is a fantastic example of this. I would also prefer the male lead not be a crybaby weakling, or if he is, for him to get strong quickly. SnS was a little weak in this department, but it got better as he got to use his powers more.

EDIT: An anime like Toaru Majutsu no Index is no good, however - that moves way too fast, and with one run through I was left baffled and wondering whatever happened.

EDIT: I'm hoping you'd give it another try. Its sad coz it really is an excellent anime.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Index is no good. It moves way too fast, and watching it just once left me confused on nearly every episode.

Fate Stay Night - it is slow...
Zero no Tsukaima - About the same as SnS except with different setting
Busou Renkin - Supernatural, shounen etc
Kaze no Stigma - What got me onto this is the beginning with the revenge, then it got slow paced.

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately, I've seen all of those. I must say, though, I especially liked the male lead in Kaze no Stigma. He was simply kickass.

The Getbackers?
Its slow sometimes and fast other times. I guess its not really magic based... but they do has supernatural powers like one of the two main leads has control over electricity. The male leads aren't weak either; they're strong but you don't know how strong but of course they have limitations to their powers. There doesn't seem like a lot of romance though (unless you like bro-mance). Anyway, the show is kinda old and if you do watch it, be forewarned that the ending sucks ass... and a lot of it. I'm not gonna tell how it sucks, it just does haha.

As for development... one character's background gets developed a lot. Some of the other side character's storylines get developed because they're somehow related to that one character. As the story progresses and gets a little more complicated, the other 'main' character's story starts to get developed. And i'll end it at that.
